The reason people are not happy with their jobs is because they got into a profession that they thought at the time they were going to like. A lot of nurses have changed their jobs to become PT's or Real estate agents, and some PT's have also changed their jobs to become RN's or other professions. So it's not fair to say that PT's job or nurses job suck. Or maybe they just had a bad experience at their work place. Or they found out too late that their job was not meant to be. I found out nursing was not for me so I switched to PT, and this is why I could see both sides of the story. You need to find out who you are, think about the work you are going to be facing.

By the way: PT= Physical therapists or Physical therapy pt= patient "Big Difference"

For a better understanding, in the year 2020 every PT must have a "Doctors degree in PT" in order to work as a PT. They will no longer work with a masters. And by the way PT's go to school longer than nurses. Nurses can become RN's in 2 or 4 years. thats nothing. PT's have a strenuous job. Do a research. They have as many options as nurses do, for instance they work in wound care, orthopedics, cardiac centers, aquatic, and 20 other different types of centers. They have as much work as RN's do. They have to exercise with patients, take SOUP notes, evaluate them just like doctors, boy its a handful. They get paid $45-50/hr for a reason. Also PTA's (physical therapist assistants) make as much as nurses; they too have a lot to do. They do what PT's do such as SOUP notes and etc, except evaluating a patient and they need to work under a PT's supervision, just like nurses need a supervising nurse, same deal.

Um about the PTA- PTA's make from $22-$32/hr. they are in the top 10 most fast growing careers. They need PTA's so much right now that there getting $2,000-$5,000 sign in bonus if you work for them. There starting PTA's now at $30.00/hr. Nurses are not on the top ten anymore. sad for us. and PTA's are a lot more satisfied and happier than nurses. PTA's have flexible hours. Also PTA's when they work per diem they could make about $6,000 a month. I know this cuz I have friends and cousins that are working in this field. :uhoh21:

Even Physical therapists assistant's make $32.00/hr about 5 years of experience, 52K. PT's make over 60K.

I know you're probably not going to like what I'm about to say. But you answered you're own question. You're new at your job. I was scared when I started my hospital job, but at the same time I knew it was my opportunity to learn more and grow more. I just started a new job recently I was going to leave, because all the girls were giving me dirty looks, and my boss was just being a b,,,, if you know what I mean. But don't be discouraged. Keep going to work. Do your best, stick it up until you get used to it. Any new job takes guts to pull it through. So don't give up. We need healthcare workers. You didn't get to where you are for nothing. Go to work and give your best. Try to think of the positives for this job. 6 months go by very quickly. It's your chance to meet new friends. You never know you might end up liking it so much that you might stay there more than 6 months. Those weird feelings will go away eventually. Alright, so don't give up on me now. Do you personally know someone that has rejected acceptance or drop out of the nursing program. Specify which type of program. And why you think or know they droped out or rejected the program. Maybe they decided to change their careers in nursing to something else. Any opinion counts, Would you say they were never interested. Do you think they wasted other people's spot in the program. My girlfriends and I had a long discussion about this. This does happen. Would you make Nursing programs harder to get into. Other than an entrance test, would you recommend something else.

True, I really don't believe that entrance exams determine how you're going to do in nursing school. I was told by an advisor that not doing well on a entrance exams shows that you are not going to do well in the program, and this school I'm talking about was only a vocational school for LPN. I wanted to laugh in her face, I told I didn't think that way!
