  1. Ontario Second-Entry Nursing (2015)

I know it's early, but let's get a thread going. 2015-hopefuls, share your thoughts, concerns, questions, and experiences here!
  2. Hi Everyone! I'm starting this topic for those who are applying to 2nd-entry programs, to start in 2014. A bit about myself: I'll be applying to University of Ottawa and University of Toronto. Graduated with a Social Science degree from Ottawa U w/ 7...
  3. U of T Nursing - Class of 2017

Thought I'd start a thread for all of us starting our BScN at U of T in Sept. To start, anyone else moving to Toronto from out of town?!

That's weird, I can still access it. https://allnurses.com/canada-nursing-programs/ontario-second-entry-952739.html
  5. Ontario Second-Entry Nursing (2015)

You're welcome :). I'll actually be attending U of T, but living on campus is definitely expensive at any school. I would say try to find other Trent students to room with and rent a place close to school. Good luck!
  6. Ontario Second-Entry Nursing (2015)

From what I've read, transfers are not allowed into second-entry nursing programs, and they don't accept students w/ prior nursing experience/education.
  7. U of T Nursing - Class of 2017

You can check to see of the deposit has been paid on: Student Web Services | University of Toronto
  8. Ontario Second-Entry Nursing (2015)

    I'm in the same position!
  9. U of T Nursing - Class of 2017

I'm also moving from Ottawa! I don't think one has been started yet. I searched for one earlier and nothing came up.

Hey! You have to pay via certified cheque. In the acceptance package, there is a form you have to fill out and include with your cheque. But don't worry, you have until June 1st to pay the deposit!
  11. Ontario Second-Entry Nursing (2015)

It took mine 5 days to show up in OUAC, and 6 days to show up on the U of T portal. Congratulations!
  12. Ontario Second-Entry Nursing (2015)

Congrats! Is U of T your first choice? You can accept, it will not affect your other offers. However, U of T does ask for a $500 deposit upon accepting your offer, so you might want to hold out if it's not your first choice...

Yes, I graduated a few years ago.
  14. Ontario Second-Entry Nursing (2015)

I think the "3 days within accepting your offer" part is for students who get their offer after June 2nd.
  15. Ontario Second-Entry Nursing (2015)

I emailed Trent when I first got the offer asking if there was a deposit, and they just said there was a tuition deposit of $500 due by June... Now it seems to me that this would not have to be paid IF you don't end up going to the program (ie. If yo...

Congrats! I also got an offer from U of T Friday, and was totally shocked! Has your offer appeared in OUAC or Join U of T portal yet? So far I only got the letter via email and my first in nursing portal.
  17. **2015** Compressed Nursing Programs Hopefuls

I also got into Trent, and accepted the offer, but I will be canceling my acceptance because I got into my first choice.. The deposit isn't due until June, and it's a tuition deposit, which I don't THINK needs to be paid if you end up declining your ...
  18. Ontario Second-Entry Nursing (2015)

I would like to know about the clinical placements as well.
  19. Ontario Second-Entry Nursing (2015)

I totally agree. $500 is definitely not pocket change. I'm in the same dilemma, as I'm waiting on U of T and Queens... Hopefully we hear back by April. :S
  20. Ontario Second-Entry Nursing (2015)

Same. Do you know if there is a deposit?
  21. Ontario Second-Entry Nursing (2015)

I use the GPA calculator on the U of T website. I was unsure of how to calculate my GPA too, before I found it. Just google "gpa calculator U of T" and it's the first one that pops up!
  22. Ontario Second-Entry Nursing (2015)

Thanks alianne! I have a 3.6 in my last 10 full courses, and a 3.3 cGPA. I already have a previous degree.
  23. Ontario Second-Entry Nursing (2015)

I also got into Trent today! Woohoo!!
  24. Ontario Second-Entry Nursing (2015)

Just a heads up to everyone: UOttawa has started sending out responses!
  25. Ontario Second-Entry Nursing (2015)

Anyone else waiting on a response from UOttawa? They said to expect a response by mid-March... However last year I saw that some people were getting answers in Feb.
