  1. Wanting Hospital Experience in DMV

    DC, Maryland, Virginia area (DMV)
  2. Who punches a cancer patient?

Really though? Your comment is petty and irrelevant. Stop being an instigator. The fact of the matter is that the OP mentioned the antagonist's race, but no one else's. What her intentions were of doing that - who knows. I'm willing to give her the ...
  3. Ok, makes sense. Seems like you've thought this over a lot, and know what you want to do. One other thing I would suggest is to contact the BScN programs you want to apply to and ask them what would strengthen your application the most. Good luck!! ...
  4. Why don't you do the courses you're missing via adult HS? It's free and it puts you in the same position as pre-health. Also, I wouldn't worry too much about your grade 11 marks. As long as you do well in your grade 12 courses, and your overall HS G...
  5. Accelerated Nursing Applications - September 2015

I'm not sure about those other schools, but I was told by the departments at U of T and UOttawa that it does not matter what you did your undergrad in, they just look at your marks. HOWEVER, your extracurricular experience looks great, which will de...

Wow, thanks for this info. I had no idea!
  8. Ontario Second-Entry Nursing (2015)

Are you an RPN bridging to BScN? The reason I ask is because I thought Nipissing only has the 4-year and the bridging program.
  9. Ontario Second-Entry Nursing (2015)

Queens uses GPA of all university courses taken (not just your last year). The site says you need a 2.7 (B-) overall.
  10. new nurse in OR, eek

I am not a nurse (yet), but I can say that there is always a learning curve with a new position. You're quite new, and you're transitioning. My best advice would be to take it as constructive criticism, and focus on turning those "no's" into "yes". C...
  11. Second-Entry Nursing Programs - 2014 Hopeful

I didn't get in. I didn't have the pre-reqs done until this summer. As for the GPA required, I believe it's a B overall.. But all that information is available on the website.
  12. Trying to stay positive...

Hello all. So I am re-applying to 2nd entry nursing programs in Ont this year.. I applied last year, but I did not finish my pre-reqs until this early summer. Because of this, I was waitlisted to all of the schools I applied to, and eventually taken ...

So powerful.. Thank you for sharing.
  14. Second-Entry Nursing Programs - 2014 Hopeful

Hey Lucia, That's exactly what I did. I took ANP1107, and I really enjoyed it. BIOL235 is not a difficult course, but it does have a lot of material. You pretty much have to read the entire textbook in order to be successful in that course. The s...
  15. Second-Entry Nursing Programs - 2014 Hopeful

I did my stats requirement online with Thompson Rivers University, and you can take research methods at UOttawa, you just have to register directly with the SCS faculty as a special student. If you look at the UOttawa website for the 2nd entry progra...
  16. Second-Entry Nursing Programs - 2014 Hopeful

Hey. No I didn't get in. I was waitlisted. I'm pretty sure it had a lot to do with the fact that I did not have the pre-reqs done in time. UOttawa is really competitive, because they only let so few people in per year. However, your stats look great,...
  17. Second-Entry Nursing Programs - 2014 Hopeful

Oh ok, I see. I sent it to [email protected].
  18. Second-Entry Nursing Programs - 2014 Hopeful

No idea :S. I'm an internal applicant too and I still haven't heard from them... So weird. Maybe I will go speak to them today.
  19. Second-Entry Nursing Programs - 2014 Hopeful

Not yet. Just a message on my infoweb that my position on the waiting list has been revised. Doesn't say anything other than that... I've responded to email telling them I would like to remain on the waiting list, but it doesn't show on infoweb that ...
  20. Second entry nursing 2014

I logged onto uzone using my student ID and password. Then went to info web and checked the application status. I'm a UO student already so I'm not sure if it's exactly the same process if you're an outside applicant
  21. Check out the thread I started called "Second entry nursing 2014", there are some others (including myself) who are waiting to hear from U of T!
  22. Second-Entry Nursing Programs - 2014 Hopeful

Hey Zaina, what section of ANP1107 are you in?? I'm also taking the course now, I'm in section A. Also, I just checked my UO application and I'm wait listed, have you heard from them? Did you ever end up applying to UWO? Sorry for all the questions
  23. Second entry nursing 2014

Hey ashro, I just checked my uottawa application and I have been put on the waiting list, so they must be well into making their admission decisions
  24. Second-Entry Nursing Programs - 2014 Hopeful

Sorry to hear about that I just checked my application and I have been put on the "unnumbered" waiting list. At least they were quick to process applications and didn't leave us waiting in agony lol... :/
  25. Second-Entry Nursing Programs - 2014 Hopeful

@isla88 It seems as though you're keeping up with the material though! If you're already done the first quiz then you must be basically 1/3 done the material. Don't stress! I think you're on the right track. I'm pretty much as far as you are.
