I am sure this subject has been covered here but it is a problem that continues to put patients in jeopardy. Just yesterday, I was working the 3-11 shift at a LTC facility. We do have a policy that nurses are not to be interrupted during the med pass...
Hi aepRN, congratulations on your accomplishment. I know it feels great. And thank you for sharing your experiences and the advice. I am 12 credits from my RN. Reading comments like yours gives me hope.
Hi Babs. I would go for it. You have nothing to lose and plenty to gain. You have the option of obtaining your degree in class or online. Given your current job, online would be best (just my opinion). I am an online student and I know 3 nurses who a...
I think it's unfair that you have to keep paying for something you already paid for 14 years ago. Society expects people to pay for their crime and even when that's done it's not enough. I hope you are able fight this.
Anbo, I think we all go through this at some point or another. I was in a funk for about a month. I spoke to a family member and my best friend and it helped. The advice here is very good and that's why we're here, to help each other.
Sorry to hear, yarong. You are not a failure. Do not let this unfortunate thing define you. Take teacher08's advice. You haven't come this far for nothing. You can do this.
It was kinda like that when I went to PN school 19 yrs ago but not to your extent MBL. You are almost home free. And think of this, when you want to continue your studies to become an RN, you can do it all online where your fellow students are much m...
Wow, you do sound excited! I would tell you to relax but you have too much energy for that (I feel your vibe, lol). So just get a jump start on your studies, start your readings; if you have one, follow the syllabus and take notes. I'm taking two cla...
It's a shame that even though you paid your debt to society, been clean for 14 years, you still are paying. All that you've accomplished should count for something. It's like being discriminated against. I think hiring an attorney is the way to go.
I worked in Florida for 3 months. The nightmare for me was the pay. I am an LPN and I received $7 less than what I get paid up here. I get paid more up here than an RN down there. Needless to say, I migrated back north. I loved the people I worked wi...
I work per-diem as well and the higher pay makes up for the inconveniences pointed out in your statement. However, I agree we should get a cancellation fee like agency nurses receive. Since I've worked per-diem at my facility, I haven't been canceled...
Sorry to read this maine. I think it will be easier to get a job in long term care especially for a new grad. Many hospitals don't want to put new grads in ER, PACU, etc. simply because the grads are new. Start in LTC and work your way up.
