Hey everyone - Just want to start a new topic for upcoming NV RN programs. Does anyone have any info about upcoming programs besides St. Rose? How has your search been going? I've been searching since May and hope to land a spot soon. I applied for e...
So 200 plus applications later as a new grad, I finally get a call from HR about a position. The conversation is great... Then I receive the battery exam to identify my "talent" or apparent lack thereof. And... I fail. It is unfortunate because I nee...
@ Hoppie 1, looking forward to meeting everyone at orientation, I'll be at the Siena Campus in the IMC. I'm also coming from out of state, so it's crunch time as far as finding a place to live. @ LVHI_RN, the process was pretty straightforward. I thi...
Congrats! I found out from hr I was accepted as well. I also asked about the situation and was told that if you are on the yes list you will get an offer but the start date is pending as of now, and I don't think they will call to make specific o...
Hello 808hi I would suggest joiNing the new grad rn california fb page for support. Especially since new grads face much ignorance and useless advice as evidenced above. There are some good resources for interviews, cover letters etc., and it is nice...

Congratulations delmel! And to everyone thus far with an interview. This will be my first RN interview, even after applying to every major new grad program in CA, so I am very excited!

I'm really not sure, but I think I read from an old Stanford post that one person had received a voicemail, then called back, and interview slots were taken already. Not sure from personal experience or anything. I worry about that too with other org...

Congrats on getting to the next step! It seems as if they are slowly calling people. A few on Facebook had calls before Christmas, and hopefully more will get calls as the week continues. There have been rolling rejections too, so no news is good new...

One suggestion I would give is to go through a travel agency. They pay for your license and airfare, then you can just stay there anyway. You would be able to make connections, and explore what hospitals you may want to work at. You have that golden ...
I graduated this year from a HI school as an RN. I am not from Hawaii. Our class has been more successful in obtaining jobs as new grads in Hawaii, so I would say that the market is trending upwards for new grads. I'm sure this is also a facility dep...

To those who got interviews, could someone tell me how far in advance they called you? Or did they email? Was there any prescreening call? How long did your status say "Under consideration" before you were called? Thanks for any answers! And congrat...
Hawaii has a few hundred new graduates each year with not enough jobs for new grads. However having experience will likely make things easier for you. If I were you I would look into getting a traveler job so that you can get placed and get your foo...

Last cohort I think they put in their website that they would hire 50-60 but I think it changed midstream and they didn't hire that many people. Not sure of the exact numbers though.
Thornton ER, Sulpizio ICU and Hillcrest PCU. For CCU it says app processed, which I think means "not selected." I think that's true since I read a post that someone got an interview for that unit already. I applied to the Aug. New Grad postings as we...
Hey to all. Applied to about 6 or so in Nov. Have 3 that are referred to hiring dept. status, but some of those were a few weeks ago and no word yet. From what I hear "application processed" is a bad thing.
Learning a lot from this blog. So... for the experienced EMTs etc. out there... what is the criteria for removing a helmet? It appears from the writers story, the injured person got up himself, and must have skated off the ice before any assessment w...

The good news is Nevada is generally SUPER fast processing licenses and you can get an temporary permit to practice in a week or two after they have received all documentation. Plus they are available on the phone too, without a lot of waiting, and I...

Congrats! Did they happen to specify what types of ICUs? Are you an internal applicant? I'm guessing you have ICU experience? Thanks and best of luck!!!

Finally, got 2 "referred to hiring department" status changes... ICU and ER, however I only did preceptorships in ICU and someone on FB posted that according to a HR person, they usually only want a person who did preceptorships in a matching unit......
