Hey guys. I'm currently taking a BSN program but I'm already trying to figure out the next step. I've always loved teaching and training and did so at my previous job. I want to get my MSN in Education to make that possible, but after e-mailing a few...
  2. An article that helped me

I thought I'd share something that helped ME. I know we've seen various articles that describe exactly what this article lists, but doesn't hurt to read it in another way. Anyway, thought I'd help. The one thing I did was if I was constantly getting ...

  7. Getting Away From the Bedside

I work in telephone triage and the nurses I work with, as well as myself, love giving "advice" over the phone. We work 8-5, rotate weekends, major holidays off. For me, as a fairly new nurse, I'm learning a lot with the variety of calls we get and oc...
  8. Can/Have you got a job with a degree from WGU?

From what I've been told by some WI nurse recruiters, BSN is preferred if you don't have RN experience.
  9. 1st RN job interview... TIPS???

Just a heads up, you should start your own thread cause I noticed you posted this on 3 separate threads that clearly didnt relate to the topic. ANYWAY, I wouldn't worry about it. As long as you show up on the actual day also, you should be fine. Just...
  10. GOOS LUCK!!!!
  11. Gloves!

We use the palpation method when taking BP so definitely don't have the need for gloves.
  12. Need personal career advice!

If you want it like you say you do, then I'm sure you'll do whatever you can to get it. Congrats on the NCLEX and good luck!!!
  13. Apply anyway. If you feel your applications are being "kicked," contact a nurse recruiter and introduce yourself and let them know the situation. I've done it so many times and they've always been helpful. Never hurts. Like all the posters said, what...
  14. Did I settle am I hurting my career?

I definitely don't think you're hurting your career, unless you're wasting your license and sitting on your butt doing nothing! I worked for a medical spa for a few years and still ended up being hired at a clinic despite not having to use "acute car...

  19. Didn't get the job

Aww sorry to hear that. I know how frustrating that can be. I've had interviews with managers who personally knew some of my relatives and I STILL couldn't find a job when I was a new grad. At one point I had so many interviews in a short amount of t...
  20. Are you only restricted to that acute unit and do you have enough hours? You can bring it up with your manager if your hours aren't full. Maybe you can work for both units of schedule allows you?
  21. I did the multiple choice assessment test first. Just had my intake interview a few days ago and I was emailed the new student commitment where I pretty much check off all areas that I agreed about the program expectations of me. Now were schedule fo...
  22. Waitlisted to Start WGU's RN to BSN

I got wait listed as well. I wanted to start in Feb but the board of nursing in the new state I moved to took too long to endorse my RN license. The morning they sent me my license number was the same morning WGU met the cap for March. Sooooo now I'm...
  23. Starting WGU RN-MSN Education program 3/1/13
