You have to have all of your prerequisites done or you have to do their VND program which is vocational nursing degree and its 16 months long and about $30,000. I'm not sure if they have changed the requirements yet, but they were going to make it so...
Anyone going to Carrington College in Sacramento staring March 4th for LVN? Have you purchased your own books or are you going through the school? I'm so excited. Anyone else going to work. I'm planning on going to school Monday-Friday and working Sa...
I bought all my books except for 4 online. They were way cheaper. Do you have any medical experience? I'm excited for orientation on the 27th. I'm super nervous. Do you live close to the school?
The adult schools where I live are very competitive and there are not many. They are highly impacted. Also very few cc's where I live offer the LVN program. I'm going to a private school that will cost $50,000 for lvn. I highly suggest staying out o...
After graduating with my lvn and taking the state test I plan on working for 2 years while finishing my prerequisites before bridging. I'm looking into bridging from lvn to bsn.
Depends what you want to do. For me I'm doing the lvn program and then bridging to rn eventually. Time and money are big considerations. Lots of places for example ltc and jails hire lvns. Depends on the school. Some have waiting lists and some don't...
I'm actually paying for most of it without any loans. At least half of it and I'm working while going to school. I also live at home so I have no bills except cell phone, gas, and car insurance. I totally know how expensive it is, but for me it is wo...
My LVN school is about $47,000. It includes books, scrubs, and a nclex study class. I know it is expensive but I couldn't afford to wait around anymore.
I'm obsessed with "it's a beautiful day to save lives" -Grey's Anatomy. It reminds me that everyday is a great day to save someone whether its from illness or themselves. It reminds me to be the change I wish to see in the world.
Yes, that is a violation. Why would you even bring that up? How would you like it if someone mentioned that you had medical issues in front of a friend. Or in general someone who you knew your info without them being your patient?
I live in California and make $20 an hour as a CMA in a jail. LVN's make $35 and RN's make and average of $50 where I work. Most of my former classmates make $9-$12 as a CMA if they found a job.

Wow some of those are ridiculous. When I was 16 I really wanted a job and a local place was hiring. I was so nervous I made my mom come with me so she could wait in the car while I picked up an application. It was for a wedding venue. Anyways, I walk...
As an MA I don't believe it is a waste of time. You do learn things like giving injections, medical terminology, taking vitals and EKG's. Plus you get comfortable dealing with other's heath care needs. I do recommend going straight to LVN though and ...
As far as I'm aware there are no online LVN programs because you need the clinical portion. Have you tried looking into night classes for it or part time which don't meet everyday?

If you really want to be a LVN then a CNA route might be good for you. I work as a MA/CNA in California at a jail and make $20 plus shift differential. My mom is a CNA at a hospital and makes $24 plus shift differential after being there a few years....
