Interesting. If I had to guess they arent going to make us work/go to class more than 40 hours cause then they have to pay us overtime I believe...? A 4 hour class day is nice though haha I was thinking they would be 8 hour days.

oh hmm that would be sucky/nice haha i could use the money right now from not working for the next few weeks/traveling before the program starts haha but how tiring!

I wonder if we get paid for the full-time hours then? Or if we only get paid for like 32 or whatever it ends up being with class? Interesting haha I got to remember to ask these questions when I go in for my paperwork appointment haha.

But I think if I remember correctly I was told that the first 3 months we have class every week... then only once a month for the next 9 months. So I wonder if we work only 2 days a week or like 3 8 hour shifts...haha confusing.

So there is a SMALL possibilty we could hear something this week haha? Or if they want to interview more candidates possibly which happens a lot.

I believe we do our orientation/training at hospital is the way my enployment lady made it sound?

I am also a BSN. I have no "nursing" experience as far as working goes but I have a lot of volunteering experience and ACLS, PALS, and BLS. I am not sure what the exact link is blueorchid....I just frequently check all the websites looking for new graduate programs near me. Eveyone keep us updated if you hear anything in the next few days (hopefully)!!

I to received an email to send in the additional paperwork. I would imagine they would start contacting people next week for interviews due to the short amount of time between now and the feb. 15th date they said all appointments needed to be completed by. Since today is the last day for the documents to be received (and Monday is technically a holiday) I would imagine/hope they will start contacting us by like Wednesday possibly. Does anybody know how the process works? Thats a very good question I am kind of confused on how it works/howmany they are hiring and such. Also there website was kind of bland and not much information. Does anybody know if they actually have a pediatric unit or just outpatient normal pediatric routine checkups? I would assume they dont have a pediatric unit because CHLA is literally around the corner. Good luck to everyone! Keep us updated :)

Yep got that early this morning also!

I precepted in a pediatric oncology unit at CHOC (both preceptorship and leadership) and then also in a surgical unit at Orange Coast Memorial.

Yeah i was wondering the same thing cause other than the job i have now...my last job was at Starbucks like when i was in high school and college so im pretty sure my manager pry inst there still haha. they are supposed to email us to set up our physicals and stuff next right?

I am a new grad (graduate in June from UCI so I have been out for about 6 months now), I have 0 experience (which I think you had to have less than 6 months for this program anyways) in any paid nursing position, though I did volunteer at a few places. My GPA in college was like a 3.7, umm yes I am a CA resident originally from San Diego as well. I had interviewed for 3 other new graduate positions and this is the only one I was offered a position for. Did you apply this time around or thinking of applying next time? Hope this helps!
