  1. Congrats everyone! Its going to be quite a journey. I'll see you Cocoa people, again, in December for the meet and greet.
  2. Congrats to all that received an invite to the interview! I wore slacks with a dress shirt and a tie to my interview and definitely recommend the same for all you guys out there. Some guys went with a full business suit too, but that's a bit much for...
  3. We don't really talk about our scores and whatnot but to give an idea I was told by one of the advisors that the avg before they started interviewing was a 3.5 gpa and an 85 TEAS. I know the interview changed that up though.
  4. I tried to find the same thread I used when looking at questions and I think this is the one: https://allnurses.com/general-nursing-student/interview-questions-88629.html If you just type nursing school interview in the search there is a ridiculous a...
  5. It is definitely possible to work and do well in the program. I have been working between 22-30hrs a week since I started and my grades haven't suffered. It really depends on you though and how much time you need to study and do homework. You don't r...
  6. I think they said something like 150 or so people were interviewed and 40 people taken for each campus. The interviews are not as bad as u might think they are. There is a thread on AN that has a list of popular interview questions that was very help...
  7. Hello everyone, I'm also currently in the Cocoa nursing program and will help answer any questions. Good luck to everyone and hope to see you at the interviews. P.S. I'm pretty curious who knights nurse is if you want to shoot me a pm that's be awes...
  8. UCF Cocoa Beach/Daytona Spring 2013

hopeful01, There has been at least 1 person that I know of that has been moved off the waitlist.
  9. UCF Cocoa Beach/Daytona Spring 2013

To me the new uniforms, for the guys at least, look like male cheerleader uniforms lol. What do you guys normally wear to class? I was looking at the online handbook and saw something about it being business casual, is this true for everyday class or...

@mc0323 The stuff on the to-do list just showed up in myucf about a week ago and it says the first part has to be done in sept. and the 2nd part on oct 22 so I'm guessing the dates are just messed up.
  11. UCF Cocoa Beach/Daytona Spring 2013

I can't find the page either, whenever I search for it the c/o 2013 shows up
  12. UCF Cocoa Beach/Daytona Spring 2013

I got into Cocoa!!! I can't want to meet everyone! The facebook group is a great idea That Girl. My overall GPA was a 3.95 and my only B was history so both prereq GPAs were 4.0 and I got an 88 on the TEAS. Congrats to everyone that made it!!

@laurenmalauren I can tell by your post I was in the same group as you(I was the guy to your right) and I think you did great! I feel like you showed just the right amount of emotion and have nothing to worry about.
  14. UCF Cocoa Beach/Daytona Spring 2013

Yea, when they handed me the Scantrons and told me to sit the other 4 people that were already there, it made me a little nervous, we were all thinking we had to take a test too. It definitely was no where near as unnerving as I thought it was going ...

@Bigfun71 I plan on just wearing a shirt and tie as well. I feel that wearing a full suit is just a bit too much for an interview and if you look at a lot of websites they'll tell you business casual is what you should wear for interviews. A shirt an...
  16. UCF Cocoa Beach/Daytona Spring 2013

I am, just a little bit, but I'm more excited to have the whole process finished with and know whether or not I'm in. I can't wait until Tuesday afternoon (I have a morning interview), but I know the wait for the next round of emails, after the inte...
  17. UCF Cocoa Beach/Daytona Spring 2013

I had to call the college of nursing today so I figured I'd ask about spots being held for currently enrolled UCF students and the lady said that, luckily, they don't do that.
  18. UCF Cocoa Beach/Daytona Spring 2013

Yes mc0323 it's only 17 months :) @laurenmalauren I thought everyone had to be a UCF student in order to submit an application. Or did mean currently enrolled in classes and/or received their AA from UCF? I haven't heard anything about this affectin...
  19. UCF Cocoa Beach/Daytona Spring 2013

It's a 5 semester lock-step program that starts in the spring, so we will be taking classes in the spring, summer and fall in 2013 and spring and summer in 2014.
  20. UCF Cocoa Beach/Daytona Spring 2013

I emailed Judy on Mon. about them not being able to verify my employment and all she said back was "This will not affect your application. Thank you for letting us know." On a side note I'm actually really excited that they still factor your TEAS sco...
  21. UCF Cocoa Beach/Daytona Spring 2013

One good thing about early interview times is all your answers to their question will hopefully be new to them while throughout the day it'd be hard not to be repeating the same things candidates from the earlier times have said. Also, I'm assuming i...
  22. UCF Cocoa Beach/Daytona Spring 2013

I just called and reserved my spot for 10:30am. I can't wait, getting excited that the process is almost to an end and we'll finally know if we made it in. See you there and good luck everyone. P.S. For the other guys that got an interview, are you w...
  23. UCF Cocoa Beach/Daytona Spring 2013

This is just guesswork, but I don't think getting an interview means that we for sure have a spot in the program. It seems that it means that we will at least be waitlisted though. Also, if they have 50 people for each school (Daytona and Cocoa) and ...
  24. UCF Cocoa Beach/Daytona Spring 2013

I was wondering if anyone that has been through the interviews in the past could share with us some of the questions they remember from their interviews. Obviously, I'm expecting questions like, "Why do you want to become a nurse?" and things like th...
