Kaplan or UWorld?
I had to restart the week trial. I didn't have the time to do all 1700+ questions.

Reduces anxiety?! I'm about to throw up I'm so stressed! I will literally be sitting in front of the computer this time tomorrow.....UGH!

Kaplan or UWorld?
Thanks! I failed twice and wish I had done UWorld a LONG time ago. Kaplan gives you a lot of strategies/methods, etc. For anyone looking for straight up bad ass questions and rationales, UWorld is your best bet! You can't go wrong with Kaplan though. It's a good system. But their rationales can be lacking. My grades on UWorld have been at average or better. Has me scared. Wish I had that extra buffer on all test grades. But man! Some of those questions.....I'm like who knows this stuff?!

Kaplan or UWorld?
Free week trial went out during a test this morning, but I did pretty decent. Somewhere around 60-65, but couldn't get my grade. Went to Kaplan to do a quick 30 question test. Got a 73.3. Already a marked improvement having used UWorld!

Kaplan or UWorld?
I always study why I get every question wrong and how I got the right ones right. I did that with all of the Kaplan qbank trainers. Did every single one of them. But UWorld has kicked my butt! So much harder...

Kaplan or UWorld?
I appreciate all of ya'lls encouragement. It really is helping. It's hard to describe being confident yet scared out of your ever-loving mind. I've already failed twice, so even though I'm more prepared now, it's still a VERY real concern. I have 6 days. Starting Thursday I have off for four days prior. I. Looking at 12 hour days those days. I'll study very little the day before. Just hope it all works out!

Kaplan or UWorld?
I'm getting discouraged. The majority of my UWorld grades have been good, if not really good. But I get the occasional crappy grades. Like my last two test were below the average. I have been studying every single rationale, right or wrong. To say the least, it is not confidence inspiring for my test, which is now 6 days away.

Kaplan or UWorld?
I just started UWorld a week ago. I've gotten two tests in the 40's, one this morning with 11 of 20 questions as SATA! But the average was only 41, so I still scored about it. All other scores have been mid 50's to mid 70's.

Good luck! You've got this! How have your scores been on UWorld?

Kaplan or UWorld?
Liz.....what were ur scores like? How many questions did u do? Did ur grades improve?

Kaplan or UWorld?
Thank you! I will. Do far I can definitely say that UWorld is a lot tougher. The questions seem to be much similar to the NCLEX Than Kaplan. And again, those rationales are top notch! Just hope it's all worth it in the end. For SO many reasons, I don't want to fail again. I don't have text anxiety itself. Just want to pass it for so many reasons. On my second attempt, I ran the clock out at 6 hours and 235 questions. So I was close!

Epidural responsibility
Are there specialties in the field? Or if a CRNA is working at a hospital, would the same person provide anesthesia in the OR and go straight to an epidural for a woman in labor?
-
Epidural responsibility
This is just for my own information...this is hard for me to put into words because it sounds like a silly question. But I wanna ask anyways. Is it the responsibility of the MD or the anesthetist to place an epidural for any reason (not just for child birth)? Would there be any reason for placement by MD only? What is the anesthetist/MD responsible for once placed? Who prescribes and makes changes to the Rx if needed? If ya'll have any additional info, please share! I do not want to be an anesthetist. I'm just super curious about it all. Again, I'm sorry if these questions sound silly. Just wanted to hear the answer from people with experience.

Kaplan or UWorld?
I've always been pretty decent with my lab values. Numbers have always been my thing. I've done all of Kaplan's qbank, but just never really got the Decision Tree. I did download the UWorld app in my phone tonight! So now I can study rationales and do questions during down time at work!

I'm digging it!

That's what I've decided. I just hope it works!

Kaplan or UWorld?
I have been using Kaplan since I was in school (graduated May '14). I just never utilized it the way I was supposed to. Once I actually started doing what I was supposed to, my grades started improving and have remained pretty consistent. At one point I tried Hurst, but found it too "corny." In MY opinion, it was a waste of money. But if it works for some, that's awesome! I started UWorld today and got a 62 on my first test. It said the average was 53. So I guess I'm on the right track. But dang....those rationales! That's what I've been needing/wanting!

I appreciate it!

Kaplan or UWorld?
I've used nothing but Kaplan until now. I've failed my test twice, but I don't think it was because of Kaplan. The first time I made the assumption that nursing school prepares you to take the exam. I was wrong. So then I retested two months after. Finished at 235 questions and 6 hours. So I was there. Just not good enough. Then I came to the realization that I just wasn't prepared. THIS time.....I feel different. In a good way. Still scared out of my mind, but different. The more I have studied the more I realize that Kaplan's rationales have been lacking. Then I hear all of this about UWorld, so I am literally about to sign up for it right now! Hope it works!

Kaplan or UWorld?
I'm sure you do have great news! I used to be worried by getting better grades in Kaplan. Then the more I reviewed the rationales, the more I started to "get it." I may never get test grades in the 80's, but if I can stay where I've been and do as well on the big test, I'll be fine!

Kaplan or UWorld?
Don't know if I should be scared by that or not! Haha
