Thank you for raising awareness of this issue. Like other commenters, I was taught in nursing school that preeclampsia was a pregnancy issue that resolved with childbirth. I had never heard of it postpartum until it happened to my daughter-in-law th...
I am a new ASN graduate, with no health related job history. I have two questions about my resume: 1. I received the "Academic Award" at pinning. A pretty non-informative title to list with no explanation. The program had a paragraph about integr...
The same thing happened to me. Tested june 11, 75 questions, 2 hours, no breaks, and the palm thing needed a manual override at the end. The results on my state BON checklist changed from pending to incomplete yesterday afternoon (48 hours). Still...
So ShawnGriffin, how long did it take for them to release the hold? I just took it on June 11 at 2 and am still on hold. 75 questions, almost 2 hours, no breaks, and they could not get a palm scan at the end, despite MANY tries.
The school I did my pre-reqs at had the same rules, and yet my lab partner for Micro was also taking A&P1 and Chemistry (I think 1 but it might have been 2) at the same time, so apparently exceptions could be made.
This may have been discussed to death elsewhere, but I couldn't find anything recent, and it seems like things are changing this year. I applied to GPC's nursing program for Fall 2012, and am eagerly waiting to hear if I got in. I had read here and ...
I went with Perimeter's ASN program. Mainly for convenience. This is my daughter's last year at home and I want to enjoy it. The GSU ACE program looked like it would be just too intense for me this year, and I did not want to commute as far as Ken...
I just looked at the calendar in icollege (First Two Months Calendar under the course calendar icon of the home page) and saw that Mondays were entirely empty. Is there another calendar I should be looking at?

The A&P you took in high school probably counts as A&P1. There is still A&P2 and Microbiology that most of the schools around here require. Most want Intro psychology, so if you have a chance to take AP or CLEP this year, that might be a...
Will we be using those giant textbooks in class or are they mainly for reading and assignments at home? I'm trying to decide if I need to buy a wheely bag to carry everything.

On a very practical note, what kind of childcare arrangements do people have that you can stay at work indefinitely on almost no notice? When my children were young, all the daycares I could find closed at 6 or 7 and charged $1 per MINUTE late fees. ...

I have CLEPed out of two classes already, and plan to take two more. The official school transcript counts them as transfer credits, so I get the hours but they have no effect on my official school GPA at all. But I have heard that my nursing progra...

Don't count on this. I have a bachelors and a masters degree, both with decent gpas, both from highly ranked national universities. When I applied to my local community college for a career change to nursing, they admitted me as a FRESHMAN! Only ...
thanks. I had heard that about books from someone else last year. They will not just release to you a cash book allowance - it seemed to go from the gpc bookstore straight through to her financial aid account. she could not even get reimbursed by ...
How did the sizes on the uniforms go? I usually wear 8, sometimes 6. I think of myself as medium, and if things are sized s-m-l that's what I usually take, but the size chart says I am on the border between small and xtra-small! I find that hard to...
I had my physical done at the Student Health center of the school I will be attending. I did my pre-reqs there as well, so I was a currently registered student, but they said they would have done it anyway since I was accepted to start in the fall -...
I was in the same situation. I signed the waiver, but they also wrote on the form that they had given me the first shot, so whoevr reads the form knows I am on track to being immunized. Hopefully that's good enough.

Suzilks1, How frustrating for you, to get caught up in this rule change - and it does look like a complete change in philosophy about learning support they are putting into effect this fall. Do you have a technical college nearby? They are not unde...
