  1. RnNtrainng, we had 2 different instructors. One on Tuesday and one on Wednesday. I'm looking forward to having ONE person teach in semester 2. It was difficult. Our Wednesday night instructor was also a NP2 instructor, so there some questions on our tests that we didn't even go over in class, and when asked about it, she would just giggle and say "maybe I threw in some NP2 questions, but you guys should know that, it was in the chapter" It was an interesting experience to say the least. I picked up my kaplan book the other day, opened it, flipped a few pages, and put it back down. I hope next semester is better for us N/W people.
  2. Yeah, I was coming here to see if anyone had said anything! LOL I hope you guys in the other classes had a better time than we did. Here's to our next semester...in 4 months....uhg. I think I'll have forgotten a lot of stuff.
  3. How do you guys think you did on your calculations test? I'm interested to hear how the other classes fared. DM n/w.....uck.
  4. I did not recieve an e-mail about the kaplan information either. The "ID Badge" is in fact the blue school ID. I was thinking about all the things they want us to have for clinicals and lab, how on Earth are we going to be able to carry around all that stuff?
  5. yes, i was very very bad, and grabbed the wrong binder. you guys can lynch me later if you want. i do in fact still have the coupon, and as i just e-mailed bijin05, i do have 2. i'm glad you were able to get an other coupon from your instructor.
  6. RNnTraining-I don't know if it's too late, or even how I would get it to you, but I have an extra coupon. I have class tonight at 6, and I also live in the Brandon area. If you havn't gotten your books yet (since it's not thursday-or I think it's not thursday my brain is fried after only one night.) I am MORE than happy to give it to you. Then you'll only have to fork over $2.40. How was everyones first night of class? We have 3 different instructors in the DM N/W class; but thankfully the 2 we met have senses of humor, although some things are still clear as mud.
  7. I'm hoping that because it's more than just one of us that it is infact a glitch. Here's to hoping!!!! Happy New Year to you all! in 10 days we'll be starting one of the greatest adventures of our lives!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. I dug through my stuff and found my deferment papers so when I go in, I have everything already to prove JUST in case. I have to wait until Wednesday to go in because I have to work Monday and Tuesday. I wanna say I've had it happen before, but I'm not 100% sure. Guess I'll go and get it taken care of, and then just go over and get my books; but that would mean I have to go out to Dale Mabry to get my financial aide taken care of. I still go to the Brandon Campus to do all my administration stuff. They still get everything into the computer, and it saves me a ton in gas. I'm not looking forward to the waiting on Wednesday.
  9. I can't find it now, but someone was saying about their financial aide being rejected? I went in the other day and saw I had the same "message". I just went over and checked, and it's the same thing. Says I have a balance with the school, and my financial aide was rejected. I'd hate to have to go talk to someone next week (since it'll be so crazy with the first day of classes begining) but it appears that I'm going to have to. Wonder if it's just part of the deferment process, or if something was overlooked. Did anyone else (including the first person who posted this) have this problem? fix this problem? know what the problem is?
  10. I still can't get into blackboard. I keep getting a webpage restore error. I put in the ticket, and all I got back was a "try the netid thing" and I've been on blackboard before. I don't understand why I have to register a username that I have already utilized. Oh well. When I did do the netid thing, it came up with a username for me that I have NEVER used on blackboard. uhg. ETA: I followed your instructions. I got in. I was using an old link to blackboard that I used when I was in A&P. I don't know why they changed it, but they did. I feel like a complete tool now. Just ignore my ramblings....
  11. bijin05-i am the 5th one on the list. in case my last name didn't give it away. rnn-i've been trying to log into blackboard for weeks! i finally had to open a ticket. i keep getting a "website restore error". so, i hope they get to me before the "black out" on the 17th (when they switch everything over)
  12. I found 2 places (it wasn't a real instense search, cause I know someone else is doing a deeper search than me LOL) one is RCampus: https://www.rcampus.com and Google Groups: http://www.google.com/intl/en/googlegroups/overview.html Just something to think about. I REALLY like this idea! I think it would be a great benefit too all of us involved, and especially those of us who can't make it to a "traditional" study group. ETA: I got a lot of ideas from this article. http://www.onlinecollege.org/2011/10/11/starting-a-virtual-study-group/
  13. I am in the nights/weekends class. I would be EXTREMELY greatful if you shared your typed info with me RnNtrainng! I agree that there is probably some kind of website for this sort of thing. When my daughter was in virtual (online) school, they had "classroom" time, and I wonder if we could use that. They were able to post things. Maybe there would be room on blackboard? Facebook might be the "easiest" but you are right, sometimes it's a little annoying. A get-together every semesters end would be a great way to pat each other on the back, and relax.
  14. I agree, I think the sharing of notes is a GREAT idea. What kind of format should we use though? Or maybe the question should be where should we share? I like the idea of a "virtual" study group. Have any of you recieved the e-mail that your file is complete? I got mine the other day, and even though I'm IN the program, I still feel that excitement as if I'm just finding out I've been accepted. I hate waiting so long to have to get books. I feel like I'm going to be so far behind, because others have gotten books early on. My husband too stays home with our children. I have 4, and it was actually cheaper to have one of us stay home, than to pay for day care expenses. At the time, I made considerably more than my husband did. Unfortunately, now it's difficult to get a job when you've had steady employment, let alone being "out of work" for over 7 years; so I must maintain my job while in school. As much as it sucks, it is nice to know I'm not alone in this endeavor though.
  15. i can't buy my books until the week before classes start. really sucks, because i do not have the money to buy it now. i have been buying a little bit of my supplies, a little bit at a time. i have 2 patches, my bandage scissors, and my pen light. i have the order form for the name badges ready to go, but i'm going to wait until next paycheck to get that ordered. i still need to buy the uniforms. there is a woman at church who is cleaning out her garage, and i'm hoping that some of the uniforms she is giving me are the colors we need. really sucks. woman at work gave me a white top and i got all excited, until i saw the stains on it. :-( i am so nervous/scared and ready to go at the same time! it's almost here. i don't do well in study groups. i tend to help others learn what they need to learn, and forget to learn what i need to learn; but i'm not completely against them. i do however, love to study at the library. no kids, no work, no husband yelling at the kids, no me yelling at the kids. i just wonder when i'll find time to go to the library. i hope my family is ready for me to be absent and unaccounted for ; i hope i'm ready for it.
  16. I'm sorry, I should've stated what class I was in. I just didn't want you guys to miss it. Wanted you all to have a chance to chose. I'm in the DM Nights and weekends. The instructor sent out a welcome e-mail and asked what our clinical preferences are. She only gave our class until the 5th to return the e-mail with an answer.
  17. My test was for chicken pox, and MMR. I have the rubella titer, from years ago, but I need the other stuff. I wanted to wait to get my physical so the dr could write it all down on the paper, but I'm not going to be able to wait any more. I'm going to have to write an e-mail explaining what happened. I even have the "results" page for my blood work (which states "pending"-grrrrrr) What other immunization did they say you need becky? On a happier note, check you hawkmail guys. I got the e-mail from the teacher asking what our clinical preferences are. So, go check your e-mail!!!!!!! Hopefully I'll still be able to GO to clinicals. Only had ONE pay day in between orientation and tomorrow to get all this stuff taken care of. REALLY wish they would've given us longer. Twenty days seems like a long time....
  18. I am NOT happy! I went to get my bloodwork done on Monday, and was told it takes 24-48 hours to get the results back. That would've been today. I went to get my results, and the woman at the desk said "Oh, we'll probably get those back on Saturday." WHAT? I can't have that! I'm PRAYING that the results come in TOMARROW, or that she'll accept the reciept for the bloodwork to show that I've at least GOT the test in progress. I'm so angry right now.
  19. i sent her an e-mail yesterday, she said as long as you e-mail everything, she doesn't need a physical copy of anything.
  20. I'll be turning mine in probably Wednesday by e-mail. I'm going to the CPR tomorrow morning. I got this e-mail today.
  21. I tried to log onto my baycare training, and for the past few days I'm getting an error message. I was looking for a place to get a TB test. I got one at work last year, but I was looking to see if the place I'm getting my titers done had a PPD. I don't see one though. I wonder if you could walk into a nursing home and ask them for one. Wonder how they would react to that. LOL. Has anyone completely turned everything in? I'm still overwhelmed with what I have to get done. Even though I've made a plan, and it'll be done in time, I'm scared it won't.
  22. I had a moment today when I realized I needed to have everything by the end of next week! I'm freaking out a little bit. I'm going to Tampa tomorrow to get my medical records (couldn't do it today), then after I see what I need or don't need, I'll go to the local walk-in clinic. Try to get my physical there. I'm taking the CPR at HCC next Tuesday. Hopefully I'll have all my stuff together, so when I'm out there, after class I can go up and turn in all my stuff. (Hope to anyway.) So overwhelming to look at all in one chunk!
  23. I forgot all about the name badges. CRAP! I registered for a CPR class on the 29th at HCC. The CPR they teach at my job isn't AHA, so I have to retake it. Sucks, because I juse re-upped my certification in July. Oh well. I put some of my school stuff on my Christmas list too. Hope to be able to get some of it.
  24. thank you KikB. I'm not looking forward to buying all this stuff. Has anyone started getting the shots/titre information yet? What about everything else? Anyone bought the books yet? Are they even available yet? I'm overwhelmed if I think about it all at the same time. I am going on Monday to the midwife's office to get my titre information. Hopefully they have all the information I need. I need to get out of this as cheap as possible. I also got a permission slip (grown woman with a permission slip, that just sounds funny) from work so I can start my Hep B series. I'm so nervous/scared/anxious/eager for this to start.
