  1. I interviewed in North Georgia. I was not given a starting salary. I have 20 plus years as a nurse. What I was surprised at is they tell you up front that you must stay a year or pay them for the training. Also not sure if this was usual but you start at 5 AM and go till when ever.
  2. This is quite interesting since I just interviewed for a position with FMC. But something told me I needed more information before accepting a position with them. They seemed to be the only dialysis company in the area looking for RNS. I think I had better keep looking and give this some more thought.
  3. Can anyone tell me if FMC is Fresenius Medical Care. I have an interest in Dialysis but am not sure what company is best to work for. Can anyone tell me? I am looking in the Georgia area. I understand Gambro was bought out by Davita.
  4. Roland I have a problem with Terri being in hospice for so long too. I understand she had medicaid so we as tax payers paid the bill as well. I always thought hospice was for the terminally ill patients with 6 to 12 months to live. But yet both sides had money for litigation which I'm sure was not cheap.
  5. Its impossible to pass meds too that many residents in 2 hours that is why there were so many med errors in the faility where I worked. What really got to me was that the DON knew about the errors and chose to turn her back. I wish there was more we could do to change it because I feel sorry for the residents.
  6. Mr Huffman You had better take a better look at what your saying, which is nothing. Only your opinion and we are all entitled to ours. None of us will really know the truth until the autopsy is done. And we will pray it was a chemical imbalance due to Terris eating disorder. Lets not make this worse then what it is.
  7. Mr Huffman Where is your evidence so far I have only heard of lip service from you. Did you by chance see the cat scan done quite interesting I thought. And why are you protecting the Schindlers at any cost? Why not let Terri rest in peace and let the medical examiners and other law enforcement do their jobs. We will know soon what the truth is.
  8. I don't think you will ever see that. This was just a mother and father trying to take control. It is a sad sad situation that became sader as the schindlers made it a circus. What about the rest of the families in the Hospice? How would you like one of your family members there? God rest Terri and shame on the Schindlers taking away all her privacy and dignity.
  9. James HoffmanPlease read hardknox I don't think you know whats happening in this case. The Schindlers are using their daughter to make money and get attention. What a shame taking away her dignity and privacy.
  10. Who got the activists involved trying so hard to save their daughters life? And who made such a circus outside of the hospice center? This has not only effected the schindlers but many others became involved and hurt due to their persistent state. And yes Michaels life plus a federal judges life were threatened due to the schindlers actions not directly but indirectly. How can you say they had nothing to do with all this? Did it not start after they continued with all their coverage on this case? I'm so glad Michael will have an autopsy done to prove the Schindlers wrong.
  11. lgflamni What a shame that the grandaughter who tried to see her grandfather before he passed away could not due to the security thanks to the Schindlers ourside the Hospice. What about michaels life threatened due to the schindlers. Yes they have caused all this. Michael is just trying to let his wife die peacefully not take away all her dignity and privacy as her parents have.
  12. I'm so glad Michael has requested an autopsy. The parents of Terri have accused him of everything they, are such sad desperate people. It will be good to have it over and never have to hear of the Schindler's again.
  13. Again I know very few nurses that would put their license on the line and say such. If it was true their would be several that would come together i ncluding doctors ect. This is another ploy from the parents to go to any extreme to discredit their son in law. And all they are doing is taking away their daughters dignity and her privacy. The courts have seen all testimony and have left the decision to the husband. So the few who come forth are last ditch efforts to try and help the parents win..
  14. I do not believe the parents at all. I think it is their guilt not their love that is getting in the way. The husband after 15 years is entitled to a life. And to make such a circus of this and strip Terri of all dignity and privacy is a crime all by it self.
  15. Who has used Terri for their own emtional gain? Not the husband but the parents who say they love her. It has been nothing but a circus with the courts involved in something they should not be. There are more important things for them to do. And yes its so very sad but the parents have stripped their daughter of all dignity and made a mockery of this case.
  16. boxermom Its is a real sad case. But its not for the courts to decide. The governor of florida should be protecting the citizens of that state against sex predators since they just had a little girl killed. I'm convinced she is in a vegatative state and that is what the majority of the medical believe. And the people who stated terri got herself in this situation by not eating are correct she should not be force fed. I wonder if her parents are feeling great guilt after all she was bulemic while living with them not her husband.
  17. What a waste of taxpayers money and DCF services. We need DCF to being doing their job and not fighting issues that should be between the families not the courts. The courts have ruled and that is what the laws say.
  18. Yes it is difficult but when you work neuro nursing there are many of these decisions being made. And in most cases it seemed more humane to let go than hold on to something that would never be. Most families were able to come together and do what they felt was right, and you have to accept their wishes. Terris parents have involved far to many people and taken away Terris privacy. It is a sad situation.
  19. James Huffman is not an experienced nurse or he would understand this a little more. I bet he just graduated. This is not a personal but family decision with not a place in the courts or government for this decision.
  20. Mr Huffman Obviously you have not been a nurse for long or you would understand dehydration better. And yes this is a very emotional time for all including the husband. It is just sad the parents had to take away all of Terris privacy. Isn't there a law against that?
  21. PHTLS All I can say is wow you are taking care of residents? I would hate to think it was a family member of mine. If we as nurses have no pride in what we do what will it say about our profession. The place where I worked would give meds at the time they had available not at the given times. Why bother to put times down and just give them random.
  22. Stevielynn Yes I do know what hospice is for so has see been terminal for 15 years? And if her parents truly loved her would they be able to watch her in this vegatative state for so long. Her husband is the one who truly loves her and wants her to be in peace and not on display like her parents want.
  23. Have you ever worked neuro I doubt it. She is not responding to anyone. We are paying for her care not her parents. And have you not wondered why she is in Hospice being cared for. What a shame to have the courts tied up on this. I sure would believe her husband over her parents. They are keeping her alive for their own selfish reasons only, and yes I do realize how hard it is to let go. But would you like to go public in her condition and take away all your rights of privacy?
  24. I only worked LTC for 4 weeks and it was scary to think you gave meds like they do. You can;t give them the way your taught or you would never get through med pass. Lots of med errors and they were swept under the rug. Most meds you could not find and you were told just borrow from another resident. I have been a nurse for 20 plus years and would not ever work under those conditions. I hope there are some LTC facilities that do care and hire enough staff. I would hate to have a family member in the LTC facility I worked for.
  25. I agree the Schiavo family are putting their own selfish reasons in front of their daughters and it is not a place for the courts to be involved. And since her care is being paid by medicaid that means we as tax payers are paying for her care. Its just time to let her go. She is not with us anyway.
