Ms.Kay, how far along are you in the program if you don't mind answering? I applied to UAB for their FNP program and got in which I was extremely grateful for. They were my number one choice and their reputation proceeds itself. I'm part of the cohor...

I'm in the process of doing my medical clearance and no email yet about drug screen. I was going over the schedule for orientation though and it said registration so I'm assuming we can register then?

Dimples: I'm soo sorry! I hope something works out for you! Hammstac: it means you're in!! Do they have the right address for you when you log onto blazernet? If so, I would just give CB a call bc you should have gotten something by now. Someone ha...

TheMolly: I wouldn't lose hope! I think they would prefer someone with more experience because you have a greater knowledge base! FA2NS: are you confused about some of the forms you have to fill out by the 20th? The FERPA form requires a witness, do...

TheMolly: I was able to log in a few hours after I registered my blazernet ID and while I was relieved I also had doubts like what if I was wait listed. I just wanted a letter to confirm it. I had called one stop IT to find out what one of my holds m...

nontradbsn: congrats!! Which orientation session are you attending? Also, I was wondering if the orientation sessions are the same for all of us? Or will they split us up one of the day according to our concentrations?

FA2NS- I'm sure you'll get some good news tomorrow! FYI: The directions to creating a blazernet ID in the packet are no different from the ones stated online. There is no specific requirement for the ID so that's good! We can all use what we created...

For all those of you that were admitted, can you explain to me one of the holds? On my profile, I see a hold for drug screen/background check, medical clearance and there's another one for "needs updated pos." What does that mean?

I called today and the lady said they will be mailing letters out this week. I'm about an hour away from Birmingham so I hope to hear something this week! Hopefully I don't have to wait till next week :/

Been over an hour and it's still not working. It says error code:PIDM. and if I forgot the blazernet ID or password. Was everyone else getting the same message? I was able to log on to the UAB email.

I've been following this thread for a while and I applied in FNP trackk. Didn't have much hope of getting in but I was able to create a blazernet ID today and of course it doesn't let you log in for 1-2 hours. I called IT like a mad women and just to...
So I started working and the people I work with are amazing and so helpful! I just notice that some of them do things differently than from what I've been taught. I've always been taught to do your basic assessment first beginning of the shift then s...
By the way, I do like the idea of doing assessments and taking in your meds with you! I think I'll try that first! I'm preceptoring during days but I forgot that once I'm on my own I'll be on nights so I probably won't have as many meds to give.
Thanks for all your input! It really helps. As a new nurse, I'm leaning towards assessment first because that's what I'm comfortable with right now but we'll see what happens once I'm on my own.
