  1. I can't believe the deadline is already this Friday! All of my stuff is completed :-) Just for reassurance, once all of our files say Completed, then we are good to go, right? Hope everyone enjoys their holidays until the craziness begins!
  2. Thanks greengal1! Just ordered mine, code is working :-) Time to get busy lol just did my fingerprints this morning!
  3. Yes, but the Va06 is only for the background check, fingerprints, and drug testing, which is only $141. On the instructions from Valencia, it says the total is $176, and that we need the Document Tracker, and that package code is Va06gen. That is $35, which together totals $176. I already bought the first package code (va06) but the other one won't work :-(
  4. Really? I just tried the package code again, VA06gen, and it still said it is unavailable. I called certified background and they said it means the school must be editing something with the package, but that it's not a problem on their end, it's the school's. But you said it worked for you?
  5. Got my orientation packet in my e-mail! But I'm having trouble registering for the Document Tracker. On the student instructions for certified background, it says to use the package code VA06gen for the Document Tracker. After I type that in, it says 'package unavailable'. Is anyone else having this problem?
  6. Thanks!!! I am enrolling in the West campus... closer to my house :-) Wonder when orientation will be...!
  7. Just got the "official" e-mail today! I'm in for Spring 2013 :-D It said that a seat became available, which they told me would happen, since I was #14 on the list. I am SO excited!!!
  8. Thanks! Did the e-mail give a deadline of when to let them know if you plan on attending in the Spring, or are giving up your seat? Just wondering :-)
  9. That would be great! Let me know when you get it :-) The nursing advisor said once they hear back from all the Spring 2013 students, then they wil know for sure how many seats were given up. She told me around 20 per semester, and I am #13, so she said I will most likely be starting in the Spring, just have to wait for the Atlas e-mail :-) So I'm guessing in the next few weeks I should hear something since they already sent out e-mails!
  10. Oh ok I see, thanks! I was actually due to start Summer 2013, but when I met with the nursing advisor, I am among the first on the list to be accepted a term earlier, so they said I will be starting in Spring 2013, I just need to wait for an official letter. I suppose since I wasn't originally supposed to start in the Spring, I probably won't receive anything until they see who has "officially" given up their seats. Anyway, so excited to start!! I can't believe it's almost here! Do you know when orientation might be?
  11. Any updates? I read on another Spring 2013 board that someone received an e-mail reminding them to register for Nursing... hmmmmm?
  12. Really? I am in for Spring 2013 as well but did not receive any letter.
  13. Anyone hear anything about when orientation might be? I know we probably have a couple more months, just getting anxious! :-)
  14. Hello! Just starting a thread for all of us accepted into the Spring 2013 class to get aquainted and keep each other informed on what's to come! I will be enjoying my freedom for another few months! :-) Until January!
  15. I was accepted in May 2011 into the Summer 2013 class. However, I will most likely be starting in the Spring 2013 class. I spoke with the advisor last week and I am in the top 20 applicants that they pull each semester to start 1 semester earlier (due to people not claiming their seats, dropping, etc.) SO EXCITED!
  16. You are perfectly on track! All Valencia requires is that you pass each pre-requisite class with a C, and then apply. It is not a competitive program; once you apply, you will be put on the wait list. Currently they are accepting applications for Spring 2014! I am still waiting, I don't start until Summer 2013. My GPA was actually 2.7 when I applied, but again, they don't look at your GPA. They only look to see that you passed each class with a C or higher, and passed the TEAS test with I think a 72% or higher (not sure on that). Anyway, Valencia has the best nurses so you are definitely making the right decision to go there! In my opinion, it's worth the wait. I would rather be patient and wait, rather than take out a loan and pay $30,000 at some other college in Orlando....
  17. Well I'm totally bummed. I just did my re-calculated GPA from the nursing application, and it said 2.73! I am completely shocked. But still, I expected it to be at least a 3.0. With that being said, I highly doubt I have any chance at all. Now I'm contemplating if I should even bother applying :/ This sucks.
  18. Dawniepoo, what was your score? I am going to re-take my TEAS for my 3rd and final time, just to see if I can get it any higher. Nervous though!!! I checked the website today, still no applications. I can't believe it's only a month and a half away until we turn them in!
  19. Oh geez. Less of a shot? That's discouraging. This is so hard, lol. It's hard because I know how bad we all want this, and there's just no guarantees and so many questions! I'm so thankful though that all of the advisors at SSC have been more than willing to help me. They are fantastic. I guess we just wait and see what happens! I finished all of my science pre-reqs in Fall of 2009, and then Summer 2010, and all of the other ones around the same time, too. So hopefully that helps... I know they take that into consideration even before your GPA.
  20. That's good to know! I had no idea there were not that many applicants trying to get into the Generic program. So do you think there is a better shot maybe? I hear the same thing about Valencia.... Valencia was actually my first choice, but the waiting list is just too long. So I checked out Seminole. So far, I think they're program seems pretty solid and I hear good things about it. Not every program is perfect! I'm not sure what my pre-req GPA is... how do I calculate it? Is that was SSC uses when they choose applicants, or do they use your overall GPA with your entire coursework?
  21. I'm curious to see how many people are applying for ONLY the Generic RN. At the Information Session, they said the majority of the applications they receive are for the Concurrent UCF/SSC RN program. However, 70 seats are given to the concurrent applicants, and the remaining 30 are for the General RN (us). So that worries me a little :/ I have all of my pre-reqs completed! I am on the Valencia waiting list for January 2013, but am trying to get in to SSC to start sooner. The only thing I'm worried about is my TEAS score. I have a 77%, and a 3.0 GPA. I don't know if that's good or bad. I'm considering re-taking the TEAS though before I apply just to see if I can get it any higher...
  22. Hey guys! I am attending the Information Session tonight at the Altamonte campus. I am applying for the General RN Evening Track for January 2012, not the Concurrent program. I know they only have a select number of seats for the General RN, but I am hoping and praying I get in. I have never wanted anything so badly in my life! I was originally going to go to Valencia, but their program has an insane waiting list, starting in Fall of 2013! I was wondering, I am a transfer student from Valencia, so all my credits have been transferred to Seminole. Does Seminole calculate only your pre-requisite classes GPA, or do they calculate ALL of your college credits and use that to determine your GPA when applying? Hopefully we can all keep in contact through this forum on our progress! Take care!
