  1. I interviewed for Tele too! Hopefully we both get it :). Do you know how many spots they have for the two Tele units?
  2. What unit did you interview for?
  3. I hope your interview went well (since I'm sure you've had it by now)!
  4. I just got interviewed for their new grad program. When do you start? Did you find out any of this information?
  5. Did anyone get and interview for 3 East?
  6. I saw this thread for the Sharp New Grad Program and just want to leave a comment so I get updates. :)
  7. Mine still say application received.
  8. Keseratops, which positions did you apply for that changed to "referred to hiring department."
  9. Hey everyone! I am starting a new thread for the November 2013 New Graduate positions to see if anybody has heard anything or if their applications status has changed at all online. All of my applications still say "application received" and I have yet to hear anything.
  10. It was great meeting you as well! :)
  11. hmmmm.... what about the welcome letter? http://nursing.sdsu.edu/miscfiles/cnsa-welcome-letter.pdf here it says to check in at the ah courtyard.... hmmmm haha
  12. You have been quite awesome and helpful yourself! I appreciate all the time you've spent answering all of these questions :)
  13. Just go to the school of nursing website and look under new student info and compliance. Here is the link for compliance: http://nursing.sdsu.edu/current-compliance.php There you fill out and bring 6 forms: HIPPA, Abuse Reporting & Corporate Integrity Policy & National Patient Safety Goals, statement of responsibility for undergraduate students, essential performance form, student acknowledgement and acceptance form, and social security number "release" and citizenship acknowledgement form. Here is the link for info for new students: http://nursing.sdsu.edu/current-newstudents.php It tells you the times and dates and other important information! Make sure to bring cash/check and a credit card as well as some paper a pen and a pencil! Let me know if you have any questions :).
  14. Coriander, Do you just have the trial for the Amazon Prime? When I looked it up there was a fee involved, but a free 6 month trial is offered. I'm not sure if I was looking at the wrong thing or not . Also, do you usually buy new or used on amazon? It just feels weird to me to buy used since I can't see them. And for some reason I don't see an ISBN on the booklist, should it be there? Thank you for answering all of my questions!
  15. Coriander When I totaled the books online through the sdsu bookstore it came out to be somewhere around 950 for all of the required books plus nursing central. I feel like I would love to get the savings of buying books online, but I'm nervous about buying the wrong one or that it may not come with an access code/cd that we need. I'm also concerned as to whether or not they would come in time! Also, did you buy any of the optional books, and if you did were they helpful? Thank you!! :) I'm excited for next week!
  16. Hi Coriander, What stethoscope did you end up purchasing? Did you end up buying one online or through the school? I noticed you mentioned that they sell the classic master 2. Do you think it would be a good or bad move to try and buy a more expensive scope? I was looking at the classic master 2 or the cardiology 3, but I'm not sure if sdsu would allow a higher quality scope or if it would just be a bad/good idea in general. Your opinion would be much appreciated! Thanks! :)
  17. Just letting you guys know that I called and found out that we won't get an email prompting us to start our background checks, and that we can start them now.
  18. Coriander, In regards to the ipod touch, do you think it matters which generation you have? I have a 1st generation itouch, and just want to make sure that it will still work okay for what is needed. Thanks! :)
  19. Wannabeee, Where do you see on the website that we need to start our background check 4 weeks before orientation? I looked at the acceptance email we were sent, and it says: "Plan on signing up for your Background Check in early August (please no sooner-it's done on-line) and come into Hardy Tower, Rm. 54 to pick up your Drug Form no later (and no sooner) than mid August (ID required). IMPORTANT: Due to the clinical sites requesting information several weeks prior to attending clinicals, you must start your background check no later than mid August. Failure to meet requested deadlines could result in dismissal from the program." I would imagine that we will be emailed once we should start our background checks, but you could always call and find out :).
  20. You have a great day too and good luck with your 12 hour shift!! :) Thanks again!!
  21. I'll have to sign up for that then :) haha. Thank you for answering all of my questions! Only a month till orientation!
  22. Yeah I'm usually the same way hahaha. Although, I can study (mainly review) with 1-2 other people, but usually no more than that. I heard from a nursing student in her last semester that she always studied alone, but everybody did horrible on their first test because they tried studying alone... and the only way to do well in nursing school is to study in groups. I guess I just wanted to know how true that was :). I had a study partner for a few of my classes, but we would still study by ourselves. It was helpful just to review and test each other, and not too distracting because there was only two of us. I agree though, studying with too many people just gets to be too much!
  23. Coriander, That helps so much! I guess I get confused with what I'm actually taking... hahahaha. I'm excited!! I can't wait to practice all that stuff :). Thanks for answering all of my questions! I've heard from a nursing student a while back that it's much better to study in groups for versus alone, have you found this to be true?
  24. Coriander, Sorry to keep asking questions, but do the N206 clinicals take place in the hospital only? I guess I'm confused because I thought 397 was clinicals and that we don't start them until halfway into the semester. So does that mean that clinicals are from 7-1 or they are after? Thanks for all of your answers!! :)
