I agree that you should talk to her. Also, are you able to be charge nurse? I'd ask to be allowed to be charge nurse sometimes. When you also have charge power, suddenly your assignments get a lot more reasonable.

I would not worry about getting patient care experience at this point. You'll have loads of it in the future. I'd get a job with the best pay and most flexible hours that you won't hate.

I live in a state without unions. I have never heard of this. Do state hospitals have anything like this? I suppose I could fill out an incident report for risk management but it's such a common situation that I have never thought to do it.

I would locate a CRNA program in your area and talk to their admissions people. Getting into CRNA school is hard. If that's what you definitely want to to do, be sure you have all the facts before you get too far along.
