Yes you CAN do it! But organization is key. When I started my accelerated program, my children were 8, 7, 4 and 3. I will be honest and say that I could not have done it without the unwavering support of my husband. A lot of my study time was late at...

Started my prerequisites when I was 40 with 4 children (3 months, 21 months, 5, and 6). Entered an ABSN at age 43. Passed the NCLEX at 44 and started working full time at a pediatric hospital. I love my job and have zero regrets. I am not going to sa...
Hi all, I attended the Curry Info Session last night and it was very helpful. I thought I would highlight the info here for those that could not attend and are interested in Curry. Curry is definitely my 1st choice because of cost, convenience, cl...
I have had the most success using a pestle and crushing right in the packaging. I then pour into a medicine cup, mix with warm water and draw up. I've never had problems with tube getting clogged.
I decided at age 39. Graduated from an ABSN program at age 44. Now working full time at a Boston hospital. Former litigation attorney. Considering going for my MSN in a couple of years. Trust me, you have plenty of time! And to the poster whose naysa...
You should plan accordingly and go to work if you are able. I live in the Boston area and we have been buried in snow this winter. Myself and my coworkers are essential employees and people have been sleeping at the hospital and nearby hotels so they...

Thanks for the article! I am trying to download a copy and when I hit the printer-friendly tab, it keeps bringing me to a Mediterranean boneless pork chop recipe.....lol! [h=1][/h]
I do see PRN bp meds in my setting (pedi acute care) But there are always very specific orders with very specific parameters. Hydralazine is the one I see most often. I agree with PP and would address this directly with prescribing MD.
Time management for sure and not trying to cram it all in before exams. Cramming is just not possible imho! I did my best to keep up with assignments/reading every week. I also utilized quizlet which I found extremely helpful. Studying all the time i...

Hello! 2014 grad here. I will try and offer some insight. First, to BananaFish, I cannot comment specifically on someone failing out and then being accepted into an Accel program. Curry is extremely competitive because their cohort size is the smalle...
I passed with 75. Majority of my test was SATA. My last question, too, was a softball and I walked out convinced I failed. Happily, that was not the case. Hope the same for you :)
I was told that in an emergency situation in NCLEX land, you ALWAYS have a standing order for O2 so I am giving O2. In real world land.....I am also giving O2.
Took the Nclex today. Very first question out of the gate was SATA and.....it.....never.....stopped. Shut off at 75 and I would say 60 were SATA! No other alternative format question. I literally thought I was going to vomit on the car ride home. ...
Let me preface this by saying that I think that everyone has different thoughts and opinions based upon their NCLEX experience. I thought my Sata on the NCLEX were harder than Kaplan. Saunders were easy. Kaplan was hard. NCLEX was harder. But my ...
I found these two books helpful, especially PDA by LaCharity. So if you only invest in one, definitely buy PDA. Prioritization, Delegation, and Assignment: Practice Exercises for the NCLEX Examination, 3e: 9780323113434: Medicine & Health Scienc...
