Hi everyone! I am currently working in a large hospital in eastern maine, and am trying to relocate to SC. I have an interview next week at Trident in North Charleston, SC and I'm trying to get some info on it. Anyone ever work there? Does anyone kno...

Hi! So I actually ended up taking a job with MUSC downtown instead of Trident. That hospital is overall way better than Trident. My starting pay was 25.92 an hour, and I get shift differential for working evenings. The job search here was actually pr...
Hi there! Anyone from Wilmington? I am currently living in Bangor, Maine but I have an interview with New Hanover Regional next week and am flying down to visit the area/do the interview. Can anyone give me info on the area and this hopsital? What is...

No problem, we went through the same thing and decided on Charleston for many reasons. There's do many more opportunities here in nursing. The pay is still less than up north, but with one year experience at Trident medical center in North Charlest...

Hi there. I was contacted for an interview within a week or so, and I was offered the position about a week later. I have one year of experience and they offered me 21$ an hour which is about 9$ less than I was making in Maine. I ended up ultimately...
I just had my first tests in nursing school yesterday and today (lecture and lab). Boy they do make them as hard as they can, don't they?! A lot of tears were seen.. and I am totally happy I spent so many hours studying! I got an 84 on both tests.. y...
Wow, awesome! Our first test was really hard... they live up to their reputation... and one of the things they live by is "A students become C students, guaranteed"
Hi! I have just finished my application to CMMC school of nursing in Lewiston, ME. I am just wondering if there are any other 2011 applicants or even current students out there, hoping we could talk. Current applicants, just wondering what you did fo...
Hi! I am supposed to be going to the Farmington spot to get my ITV classes, but I am going to drive to campus instead. I live in the waterville area, so really its about 45 minutes no matter which one I go to. There are obvious advantages to going to...

Big difference... LPN is usually a one year... RN usually 2 or 4. If it is a community college the RN is a 2 year program. LPN's don't get paid nearly as much as RN's USUALLY. (Unless an LPN has a ton of experience) LPNS still have to work under an R...
This post is cracking me up!!! All of the replies are hilarious ! I haven't started Nursing clinicals yet, but I did go through CNA clinicals... once I had a woman have a major poop explosion and rub it all down my arm.. that was amazing I found...

I am attending Central Maine Medical Center school of nursing. But also some of the community colleges up here (that have about a one year wait) are fairly easy to get into as long as you pull at least C's in your pre reqs, and "pass" the hesi. You d...

I don't agree that your GPA is too low. I think it is where you live. Have you considered moving? I live in Maine and I know many people that are starting with me in Fall (class of 2013) that had an overall GPA of around a 2.6-2.8 and they got in jus...

If you are sure you don't want it, why continue? I don't agree that you should work toward a goal you despise. If you aren't going to be happy, what is the point? Life is too short to please everyone else. You tell your parents by just sitting them d...
Yeah I think so too.. it is just so much info that trying to cram all the pre reqs in with nursing classes isn't a good idea. At my school, we have the option to take the pre reqs with nursing courses or do them before applying.. I had most of mine d...
like everyone else said, I am sure it is totally normal.. I am in the same boat right now.. I was so excited when I got my acceptance letter, and I still had a few classes to take this summer to get my pre reqs out of the way.. I immediately started ...
For mine it is 4 semesters, but they recommend not combining the nursing courses with the pre reqs so in reality it is usually about 6-7 semesters (for an associates) unless you are brave enough to mix them.. which I was not lol
I don't have all of my pre reqs , but this summer I am doing A&P 1&2 back to back at USM, and Dev. Psych online. then the only two I will have left are pharmacology and microbiology which I will be taking next summer at CMMC. The rest of my p...
I have been keeping on top of things like nobody's business and there definitely hasn't been any information on books yet. I am guessing they will let us know when it is way closer. Right now we still have like 5 months before starting Fall semester ...
