I know this post was several years ago but I want to tell you that as a new grad in the ICU in 2008 I made 99,000 in the bay area. the next year in the icu I made 128,000 working OT maybe once a month. So actually your numbers are way off.

YIKES! I am so sorry to hear this. I hate that nurses do this to each other. Its awful. I am so sick of the nurse on nurse violence. No wonder nurses arent seen as professionals. I have such doubts about continuing on in nursing.

I am right at the three and half years and really ready to get out. We get treated like crap by management. no breaks, unsafe residents and blamed for their mistakes. I feel like I should get paid extra to teach them.....if they listen.

kukana----keep it positive. you don't know anything yet. this is out of your hands now. control what you can and apply to more schools if it makes you feel better.
