sarahf81, you will enjoy the OR! It's a different bird altogether but very interesting and you will learn so much. I always felt it was like a window into what is going on medicine... the doc's love to share their world..
Good luck in your new job.... still in the honeymoon phase.. let the dust settle and work a day to day and see how you feel about it in 6 months..good luck to you.
The other thing about call is this, it should be for true need and not scheduled cases unless the manager is going to staff that extra weekend day or shift and not use the call team and then there are the OR's that feel because you work in the OR you...
I traveled as a Circulator in the OR for yrs.. went to many hospitals, mostly on the smaller side. Did I see the OB nurse's doing C-sections... give me a break. They knew if they complained and if they did anything to break sterility or open somethin...
I can tell you this... at Humana if they can come to your house they will, they did to many that worked for them when I was there.. I don't know who you are going to work for but I wouldn't leave my day job for an insurance company position of "tele"...
Well, I understand... but from reading your note it is not surprising to me. I worked for the for over 2 yrs and so glad I am not there anymore. I have my life back....
I wouldn't encourage anyone to leave their present position permanently, stay PRN if you can by working once per month. Some insurance companies don't like this. Your decision. As for license, if you are calling members in a different state than whe...
Thanks for a quick reply..Sorry to hear you have some health problems and hopefully that is better for you now. I worked for that "other" company (WAH) and have left it.. just too many other problems. Agree with your assessment of the WAH situation....
Absolutely not... if you've taken the job with Humana then you probably know this. They have trained in FL for yrs...now have started in other areas. Basically what is amounts to is two weeks in St.Pete then WAH with a mentor... Good luck if you go t...

I'm curious about this too.. Can you list any other companies that do this? I considered a company in the South and the pay was like $18/hr. Is the pay comparable to a hospital setting? What companies are doing this or is it mainly hospitals or insur...
Getting back to the original question... has anyone worked with Senior Bridge or any of the companies doing "Transition" care? I would like some information on how they pay, is it per visit, is there any mileage etc.. thanks
Well, they are now doing a reversal and state "we will reimburse for your license" and now are rearranging many thousands of members that were dumped on nurse's without a license in the particular state the member lives in. Yes, compact license and ...
Just went through this with the insurance company not wanting to pay for our license, states our "lawyers have checked this out and you don't need to be licensed in a state to call there" and refused to pay for license. Then they also mentioned we ha...
The only thing I would say to anyone wanting to work for any insurance company doing "cares management" type work is not to stop you current position totally. Stay in a PRN position if possible. This is not what it appears... it's not a piece of cake...
