I think we had 3 in the LPN and RN program together at the Lawrence campus.
I don't know about TEOFL(you need to talk to an advisory), but since I have gone through the nursing program at Ivy Tech Lawrence, I can tell you this.
First, you have to have your basic placement test to see what English and what math you can take. If you do poorly on these tests, you have to take remedial classes which add time and cost to taking the pre-reqs.
Basically, you have to have ENGL 111 (English comp) and a MATH 13X (college algebra). English 111 is part of the section process, so you need to do really well in this class. Ivy tech's nursing program selection is based on a point system. ENGL 111, PSYC 101, and APHY 101 and 102 carrying double weight plus your TEAS score are added together to make up your score.
In addition, you must also have IVYT 1XX,COMM 101 or 102, and a Social/Behavioral Science Elective ( PSYC 2XX or SOCI 1XX) done before you apply. This totals 22 credit hours or about two semesters. There are actually two co-req that must also be done before you finish the nursing program which equal another 6-8 credit hours. The admission dates are as follows:
For Fall Admission April 1
For Spring Admission September 1
For Summer Admission 1 February (if I remember correctly only LPN and medics can apply for the summer)
I am not sure of the start and end dates, but if I remember correctly at least one semester is lost because of the end and start dates.
