I firmly believe we are professionals and a few minutes late is a RIDICULOUS reason to discipline a professional. And, as professionals we need to be timely. You can bet the surgeon who is chronically late will be dealt with in a similar manner........

A word of advice, do not belittle the tardiness. I am one of those colleagues that has no use for chronic tardiness. Whether it be a few minutes or longer, we are meant to be on time.

Actually it is your responsiblity to report her. If you didn't and it came out that you knew, there was an issue, you also are in hot water. Why are we so afraid to report illegal behaviors???

I graduated from the generic program when they had it. This is a great, very competitive school. Good luck to all that get in. I have precepted many students from the program. From what I have been told, plan to work esp hard.

I will often make the call re: did they take their meds. I have no issue with that. It is an opportunity to talk about medisets, and compliance. Otherwise I explain that I cannot give ANYTHING w/o an order.

I have only been a school nurse for 4 yrs but an RN BSN for 39 yrs. I have noticed that teachers often think they know more about health care than us. Stand your ground and if they have an issue , they can deal with it.
