  1. @Iloveapplez Congratulations! Good luck to you!
  2. I hope so too. It should not be this hard for LVNs to continue their education to become RNs. It can be very discouraging at times.
  3. @Iloveapplez Just received the same email. I didn’t pass either. That was fast! 😔
  4. Yea, I applied to the generic RN program as well. I will most likely apply to Mission College too.
  5. I agree. Not at all what I expected, and I studied!
  6. Good luck! I take mine on Wednesday. I’m so anxious! Please let us know how it goes for you 😊
  7. Hi @Susanbarajas Yea, it is a little nerve-racking! I graduated LVN school in 2010, so I know how you feel! I gave most of my nursing books away a few years ago. But I was able to find some Nursing Fundamentals Review books online. That's what I'll b...

  12. Hartnell LVN-RN for Fall 2022

Did anyone else apply this cycle for LVN to RN advanced placement?
  13. Yes, good luck to you! Do you have any idea how many LVNs get seats per semester? Or how long do the LVNs have to wait for a seat to become available? I'm so anxious! And I hate not having all the information!
  14. I've signed up to take the challenge exam as well. I plan on studying the ATI Comprehensive NCLEX PN Review book. I am also focusing on the topics in the Nursing 10 course Syllabus. What's your plan? Any tips or suggestions?
  15. Plus size nurse concerned about O.R. scrubs

I work at a surgery center, and it is REQUIRED that you wear the surgical scrubs. Which means no outside attire what so ever. A couple of people at my job had the same concern, they brought it to the managers attention and eventually more Lg and XL s...
  16. IV certification for LPNs

Question: You did not learn this information in your IV cert class??? I know in California, we can not push meds, but can hang fluids and administer blood.
  17. How do you do it?

I am a single mother of two boys. I worked as a cna part time on the weekends rotating shifts. This included nights which pays more, and definitely helped with the bills. It was hard, VERY hard but I did it and it is soo worth it. Being a single moth...

Question. Did you manually flush with NS after EACH med administration?? That is BIG thing also to remember.....
  20. Bruise or ecchymosis?

The difference is that a bruise is caused by outside trauma to the area. Ecchymosis is a type of bruising caused by a disorder or a side effect to a medication. This is what I learned and remembered from nursing school, so technically it is a bruise,...
  21. What is the difference between LPNs and RNs?

NurseLoveJoy88. Here in CA, LVN's make almost $30-$40 LESS than RN's do.... Also, LVN's cannot do assessments upon addmission...but we sure can anytime thereafter, even at the begining of a shift.
  22. Is a phone call a good sign?

OMG!! Same thing happened to me last week. I had an interview on Wed. at 0930..didn't really think the manager was interested, so I just left it alone and left my phone upstairs on the charger. Later that evening I go upstairs to get my phone and I h...
