  1. ooooo k? give one side some thorazine and have at it?
  2. Such a sad bunch of post... But tis the truth
  3. Yea, what would the death tolls be without life saving medication like digoxin and synthroid. Or what would the tolls be if we let infection run rampant without antibiotics. We would still be up to our butts in smallpox without vaccination. Medicine is not perfect but we do the best we can. And ask how we live withourselves when we are trying to bring better health to people in need is rude and demeaning.
  4. 3 jumpers and two combative
  5. One way a persons culture can effect their nursing care is by creating bias. We must be able to stop ourself from thinking that our way of life(culture) is superior and understand that to the pt their way is superior. Ex. An atheist nurse judging a jehovas witnes because they wont let their dying child recive blood. It can be hard for the atheist(or other religion) to be a true advocate and advocate for that patients beleif. There also cultural belifes as far as pain and how its managed.
  6. All i can say is hang on for the ride. First few months are like that, but then you hit your groove. As far as the assesments, you usualy dont want to document that you will do somthing in the future. Just document it when it occurs and state why you are doing it at that time. And always remember when crossing out, one line. Im almost at my one year mark and i am berely begining to feel less stressed.
  7. Try being mentaly abused by a doctor who acts like a 4 y/o when they dont get their way
  8. May you never need help
  9. I had the same thought about the bed alarms in our inpatient rehab unit. That alarm goes off and everyone pops up and starts running around the unit.
  10. i started ND STILL AM IN THE REHAB UNIT. THIS IS A VERY GOOD PLACE TO GAIN YOUR BEARING
  11. gum rules. there is nothing whorish or unprofesional about at it has long as you do it like a human and not a cow. bad breath is far worse.
  12. i think some of theses people unrealisticly expect one on one care. they think that just because the pt is their sole focus that they are ours as well. they dont realize we have seven other centers of peoples universe to care for
  13. yea... i do it for the money. id rather be working the ground crew but i like to live comfortable
  14. 40 mg over two minutes or one minute for every 20mg or 30sec for every 10mg or 15sec for every 5mg
  15. Just tell the board the truth and hope for mercy. Im shure it will be fine as far as the board goes. If i was a board member i would not vote to revoke.
  16. pizza is always good.
  17. You walk in and there is no one in the nurses station
  18. Del sol and las palmas are pretty good places to work. There are rn jobs here. Maybe not in the area you would like, but there are jobs.
