  1. Is Corrections a good job for a new RN Grad???

Corrections is not a good place for a new RN grad. Too many places to get caught up and or fooled by inmates. You need top notch assessment skills along with real life experience. Corrections is not designed for new nurses. I sincerely suggest gettin...

  3. Is English required to be an RN?

I have noticed from day one in here that many RNs use some of the poorest English and grammar I have ever seen. I am sure that we were required to take English as a requirement to graduate from nursing school. Did we leave it in the classroom, or is ...
  4. Beat up by a resident, what to do??

I am 48 and still to this day address many people as Mr., Miss or Mrs. I never use Ms. as it has no meaning. I was taught as a child to call adults and as an adult those you don't by their sir name and last name. Where I work it is "Inmate Doe".
  11. Giving IV Mg++ Without A Serum Level?

I agree with RNLou. However it is always best to have the numbers; especially if given as as suppliment.
  12. Getting Fired ?

No, you have to do something to piss management off. A poor work ethic and attitude will help turn management against you. No you will not just be fired on a whim.

  23. Is English required to be an RN?

I am back at the end here for one reason. I must say I am sorry to Tweety. I was a bit rude and he didn't really deserve what I said. I exchanged emails with him, hoping we see more eye to eye. He really is a professional even if we do not agree. Twe...

  25. are CVL placements a horrible painful experience for pts?

A clavicular placement is more painful but that much more so. As stated above the skill level of the person placing the cath has a lot to do with it. A local is always given first. After that its the proding and pushing that are the most irritating (...
