Parkland Critical Care Nurse Residency Sept 2012
LoL Dang typos! "That is complete hear say from others playing the waiting game" is what that was supposed to say

Parkland Critical Care Nurse Residency Sept 2012

How did u do? Ive "heard" a few things but I dont really want to spread hear/say because it could be wrong information.

Parkland Critical Care Nurse Residency Sept 2012
The whole process is nerve wrenching to say the least and is probably the most competitive to get in which kinda stinks because its the place where you will be immersed in learning opportunities and EVERYDAY will be different. Hoping for the best for everyone and good luck! :)

LoL Well maybe someone will post on here if they get a call back from SICU and you will know that they have started the hiring process.

Did the staff that interviewed you tell you when you should hear back from them? I am keeping my fingers crossed for the ER residency. I am staying hopeful but I know it is VERY competitive. I am just trying to stay positive at this point. I interviewed last week, so I guess we will see what happens. You have to make like 15 posts before they let you PM anybody, but if this post keeps going at this rate, you should have posted 15 times in no time!

When are you taking your math test? You interviewed for the SICU right? Hopefully you find out something soon. Driving five hours here and back would be ridonkulous! LoL Parkland is a really good hospital so keeping my fingers crossed and trying to stay positive at this point!

Im not sure about if they offer jobs without passing the medication test or hire may be pending upon completion of your math test. Where do you live now? That stinks having to drive from outta town more than once. Are you going to relocate if you get the job?

Parkland Critical Care Nurse Residency Sept 2012
I like how everybody is coming out of hiding now that some of us have interviewed! Im guessing yall have just been stalking this post until the cat was out of the bag! LoL FINGERS CROSSED!

*fingers crossed*
Im not really sure tha clinics usually pay that much if you dont have years of experience in that area. I have a friend that works at a peds office and she worked their 9 years before she started making that much money. I could see you making that at a hospital but idk about a clinic. Dont worry too much, they may have liked you enough to pay it! Stay positive.

Leave during orientation for dream job?
Okay so this is one of those post that may or may not get u mixed reviews especially when you are talking about TWO jobs and half the people on these boards cant find one....anyways If I were in that situation I would most likely go with my dream job. If you are somewhere where you settled because it was the only job offer at the time, then you have a greater chance of being unhappy later and maybe being a little more lax versus if you loved where you were. As far as what you would say would be along the lines of Thank you for the opportunity but u feel the current position isnt the right fit for you etc. etc. its none of their business why you are leaving ALTHOUGH im sure there were hundreds of others that really did want to be there BUT im not going to go that route with this post, just my opinion. I think you should go where you would be happiest and that seems to be with your "dream job."
-
What would you do?
Congrats on the job offer! Im sure you could ask them for a PRN status at the Home Health agency and just work whenever you needed the extra money! Sometimes you have to do what you have to do and if you are going resign...at least give them two weeks notice :) Congrats again

Parkland Critical Care Nurse Residency Sept 2012
Yeah I am just hoping that they start emailing or however they contact for interviews at some point this week and if not hopefully by next week. Hopefully more people will come out of hiding and contribute to the conversation eventually lol
-
What to do next?
Well congrats on the interview! You are already way ahead some of us out here! :) Anyways, I dont think I would apply for the same position, if you have already applied for it. As for the other position...GO FOR IT! They have not officially offered you a position yet, so therefore you are still a "free agent" as I like to call it LoL...I would also call and check and see if the positions have been filled or if they are still in the decision process, that way you dont go coo coo and for nothing if they are already filled! Good Luck and i hope you receive an offer!

I think that its just that much more intense! MEDSURGER you said your friends say its a good sign? I would like to know when they are going to start the interview process but its like pulling teeth to get any information. Sending good luck vibes to everyone.

down in the dumps
I feel your pain...I graduated in May and have been applying for jobs since February with not so much as a phone interview! I am hoping there is a job out there with my name on it and I will pray that there is the same out there for you! Dont give up and stay positive, something is bound to pay off.
