Greetings Friends- I just wanted to know who my classmates at Rockland Boces will be in Sept 2010. I am very excited to start the program and I would like to make a few friends before we start. Btw I am Greg and I will be attending the Full-time da...
I am currently doing Excelsior's ASN Program. I have made lots of progress this year and plan to be finished sometime mid 2015 god willing:bookworm:. My partner and I moved to Virginia Beach a year ago from NY thinking it would be a great move for ...
Let me decide for you, RN lol. Seriously though, if you have the time and money I would suggest doing a RN program because of the employment climent for LPN and RNs alike. Though some new Associate degree RNs may be feel pinch, as a newer LPN with ...
Hi RN-DC I hope all is going well in your first year as a RN! I wanted to know if you ended up going this way once you graduated. If you did (or did not), how did it all work out for you. I'm not yet done with the program but I am plugging away her...

Hi lpntorn2be I am also in South eastern Virginia. If you don't mind telling, what hospital are you doing your clinicals in and was it easy to set up. I saw that Sentara Leigh is listed and I live within 5 minutes from there so that would be so per...

Hey Matt Sorry I don’t have any information for you but I am going to bump your post because I am also interested in this program and live in Virginia. I originally was doing Excelsior while living in NY and decided to switch to a distance learning p...
This is going to be a long one. I am originally from NY. I was a Technician in L&D prior to becoming a nurse and I always wanted to work on a acute nursing unit. I became a LPN in 2011 and was abruptly awoken from my dream and took the first job...

@CrunchRN - Lubbock @Itzvalerie - thanks for the info. I figured they would have ignored my app because of lack of acute experience. I was really shocked to get a call back for a interview.

Yes guys, I had to share this because I thought it was quite bizarre. Although there are times I get annoyed with the fact that it is taking ME forever to finish my degree through excelsior, I understand the concept of self paced and self study. A...

Hey a4patch, what did you decide? Are you doing the program? I'm trying hard to get through but I keep running into financial road blocks. What part of Virginia are you in?
I am a LPN and I am currently enrolled in Excelsior's LPN to ASN program and I plan to be done sometime next year. I've recently interviewed for a position at one of the major hospitals in the area and I feel really confident that I will get the po...

Thanks for your responses guys. I just realized that I read the licensing information wrong. VA will license provisionally for initial licensing so I’m out of the woods for now.
After applying for over two years I have finally been hired at a jail in Suffolk, VA. They quoted me 30,000 to start. I know they pay is generally low in the area but is this salary in line for a LPN with 2 years experience? Soo excited to start!
Sorry, I don't have any tips but I would love to know what your experiences are since it has been a few months. I May be moving to LTAC myself. Thanks Greg
