Sorry, I will clarify those statements in the previous message. Nurses are very much LEADERS in the patient's care, and many times make decisions on treatment based on rapid assessments. My point was not to minimize the role of the RN, who many time...
Hi Juliana, Congrats on getting into the program! I will say that there are a lot of opinions about nurses that go into advance practice programs with no nursing experience. I think I can partially speak to this in that I only had one year of nursing...
Hi Everyone, Just wondering if there is anyone else out there that will be starting the online FNP program through Georgetown University starting in Fall (September) 2013. I am going to be in the Part-time track. Post if you will be joining me! Jus...
Hi Futurenp12, the admissions counselor was likely correct about the 90% completion. The thing is is that many people switch to part time/fulltime and vice versa which changes which cohort track they are in. Also in the beginning I believe a number o...
Hi brence30! Thanks for the update, and CONGRATS! I am in the fulltime FNP program at Georgetown and am just about to start my first clinical rotation and second semester! I will be working part time in a family clinic (16hrs/week, manageable) at the...

Hi davesbride, That decision should be based on how much of your time you will spend every day during the week. Honestly, for me, I am ether studying, writing a paper, and completing a health assessment video (or a combination of these!) on almost ev...

I am starting as we'll in the fall, but I believe the program starts on the 9th and the orientation session is online and will be available to complete online on our own time on the 2gu platform. If there is an orientation session I have not heard ab...

Hi Mary, Thanks for the reply. I am choosing Georgetown for a number of reasons. The first is the name recognition and reputation of the University. I think this will help with employment prospects. Also, I like the fact that the weekly class session...
No but my adviser told me by the end of this week I will find out. Are you applying for part time or full time? When did you receive an email that your application was forwarded to faculty for review?
