Question about A&P - BIO 141 Online at NVCC / ELI

I did it before for both 141 & 142. 8 weeks is tough for the course but it can be done. Exams are multiple choice and hot spot (put pointer at correct spot and click). Just work from the study guide and you will do fine. I still reference mine from time to time.

    Interview attire

I have my first nursing interview this week. My question is when wearing a dress shirt you wear tights or pantyhose? Just wanted some opinions from people who may have interviewed recently or are currently doing interviewing for nursing positions.

    CJW Medical Center

Congrats! I am trying to get on as a tech right now. I know a few people who did this program and loved it. They said they were able to try different areas and know where they wanted to work.

NCLEX Preparation - when to start?

I was actually going to post the same thing. I wanted to study over the summer to prep for fall classes, but also for the NCLEX. Please let us know what you found was helpful.

    Genworth anyone work here

I am currently an RN student, but my day job right now is staffing for IT. My company has been working with Them for many years. I can not tell you what it is like as a nurse with them, but every consultant that I have placed with them over the past 3 years has loved the company. Every manager that I have worked with had been very nice and I have developed a lot of good friends there. I will just warn you that like a lot of companies they are doing some restructuring and have sold off parts of their business.

    Maternity Scrubs

Ok, I need some help. I am a nursing student who is required to wear a white scrub top. I am having a hard time finding any. I have tried on larger sized scrub tops, but the school is strict about how the tops will fit and they won't pass the test. I have a few months to find the right tops, but I am going to be needing them soon. Any help is appreciated.

    JTCC fall 2011 acceptance

Well I ordered my uniform tops and they came in yesterday;). I am normally a size 10 top and the website said to order a small. I was so afraid that it would be too small, but to my surprise it was perfect:lol2:. I ordered the zip top, button up top and the lab coat from them and it only took a week to get everything. The button up top is just a little snug, but would be too big in the next size. Thought you guys would like to know. Charlotte
  10. New51 - Are you going to have to buy any more books for the 2nd semester? I am just starting my first semester this fall.

    JTCC fall 2011 acceptance

Does anyone have the list of books that they can scan in? My doctor has my paperwork and my copy is on our computer that my husband took with him on a trip. I will gladly do searching for everyone to see if I can find the books at a decent price.

    JTCC fall 2011 acceptance

I normally am all for the buying online for books (tends to be cheeper), but I also like having the books online to read and I haven't been able to find that option yet (except through the box of books). As far as the stethoscope, I am going to take my mom's (a nurse) advise and buy a cheaper one (MDX is the brand I think) to work with until year 2 then buy a Littman.

    JTCC fall 2011 acceptance

That is the GPA that I calculated on my admission forms. Over the last 3 semesters it has ranged from a 3.2 to a 3.8 as the lowest GPA. It all depends on the number of applicants and their GPA.

    JTCC fall 2011 acceptance

I most likely had one of the lowest GPA of our Fall 2011 class. With my transfer classes I had a 3.33 GPA. Without my classes outside the VCCS system, I had a 3.67 GPA. Now the only classes I have left to take are my nursing courses.
  15. When I went in 1.5 years ago, they listed the LPN program at $38K and then the RN as $40K.
  16. The only place that I know of is MCI, but it is about $40k for the program. If you have to go there, I would study up on the TEAS (if you haven't been in yet) and go for the RN program. I believe it is also around $40k.
