  2. I have my first nursing interview this week. My question is when wearing a dress shirt you wear tights or pantyhose? Just wanted some opinions from people who may have interviewed recently or are currently doing interviewing for nursing positions.
  3. If anyone hears of someone dropping the all morning labs/clinicals for NUR 111 please let me know. Still trying to switch.
  4. Well I ordered my uniform tops and they came in yesterday;). I am normally a size 10 top and the website said to order a small. I was so afraid that it would be too small, but to my surprise it was perfect:lol2:. I ordered the zip top, button up top and the lab coat from them and it only took a week to get everything. The button up top is just a little snug, but would be too big in the next size. Thought you guys would like to know. Charlotte
  5. Does anyone have the list of books that they can scan in? My doctor has my paperwork and my copy is on our computer that my husband took with him on a trip. I will gladly do searching for everyone to see if I can find the books at a decent price.
  6. I normally am all for the buying online for books (tends to be cheeper), but I also like having the books online to read and I haven't been able to find that option yet (except through the box of books). As far as the stethoscope, I am going to take my mom's (a nurse) advise and buy a cheaper one (MDX is the brand I think) to work with until year 2 then buy a Littman.
  7. That is the GPA that I calculated on my admission forms. Over the last 3 semesters it has ranged from a 3.2 to a 3.8 as the lowest GPA. It all depends on the number of applicants and their GPA.
  8. I most likely had one of the lowest GPA of our Fall 2011 class. With my transfer classes I had a 3.33 GPA. Without my classes outside the VCCS system, I had a 3.67 GPA. Now the only classes I have left to take are my nursing courses.
  9. When I went in 1.5 years ago, they listed the LPN program at $38K and then the RN as $40K.
  10. The only place that I know of is MCI, but it is about $40k for the program. If you have to go there, I would study up on the TEAS (if you haven't been in yet) and go for the RN program. I believe it is also around $40k.
  11. You have to get the tops through Meridys, but the pants just have to be Landau color code RWP. Some sites call it Wine and others burgundy. I tried on the cargo pants with elastic back waist band and drawstring front. They say you can get any brand pant, but it has to match the color. The Landau pants are not that bad , price wise, so I would just stick with that brand. You can go to http://www.landau.com. If you choose the violet color it will show you the styles that come in the color we need. The guy at All Med Express told me that they can order any style that you want, but recommended ordering by July to make sure you had time to return or exchange if there was an issue.
  12. I got shoes, but that is it for now. I did find out that All Med Express gives a 10% discount for us. They special order the pants (Landau), but one pair (cargos) was only $14.99 before the discount. That was alot cheeper than online. I have gotten all the dr's appts out of the way, so I am clear there. I also got my BSL taken care of. I think I am going to order my uniforms in June (going for 2 tops and bottoms). I wish we could start buying the books, so it is not such a huge amount all at once. Anyone else have tips on where to buy stuff?
  13. Try in Brighton, CO (north of Denver). My mom works at Platte Valley Medical Center and says they are looking for nurses.
  14. I was hoping to get a study group set up for one night during the week (maybe Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday) and one on Saturdays. The library on the Chesterfield campus is a good place to get a group together. Any HDEP students will already have boards that they can post stuff on the Blackboard site. I do think the FB would be a good idea, but I would worry about the pics and other items.
  15. I had all but given up on it. I got my letter on 4/16 also. I am so happy to get into the HDEP program. Which orientation are you going to on the 5th, the 1pm or the 5pm? Can't wait to meet fellow students!!!:yeah:
