Interview attire

Published

I have my first nursing interview this week. My question is when wearing a dress shirt you wear tights or pantyhose? Just wanted some opinions from people who may have interviewed recently or are currently doing interviewing for nursing positions.

I interviewed yesterday and I wore neither. I wore a pencil skirt, plain top and navy blazer with flats. IMO it is 2014 and I'd rather be comfortable.

I usually do not wear tights, stockings or pantyhose with my dresses or skirts when arriving at an interview. I simply shave my legs within 24 hours of the interview and apply lotion or body cream to prevent my knees from looking ashy.

My legs are really veiny from years on my feet as a nurse. I really need a more opaque type hose to look presentable in a skirt. If you have nice legs, you could do a sheer hose but in my book bare legs are a corporate and healthcare no-no.

I would absolutely not wear bare legs. Very unprofessional. Unless its like 100 degrees out. I would wear a blazer, attractive blouse, skirt or pants to match the blazer and jewelry. Nothing crazy looking. But you want to look friendly and approachable.Plus make sure you wear a big smile and be very friendly.
