I just wanted to let everyone know I have not taken the CEN yet....my director decided it would be better fro us to wait, and take the updated verson.....I did not want to do this, but since they are paying..... Oh, and the plan that they were going...

I guess I need to clarify. There are no rumors about the people on this specfic shift I am speaking of. I know them, and have worked with them before....I know how it is. I have been asked before to move to this specfic shift to build team spirit.......

I don't know if you have ever worked night shift before so I just wanted to point this out...... you get off on Monday morning spend that day sleeping.....so you are actually only off Tue, Wed, Thur.... Friday you have to take a nap in order to be up...

I agree with FF-PHRN. I respect our medics, and treat them as I would an other medical professional. They know a lot, so just give them report....They have taught me a few tricks, and I hope I have helped them with some things as well.

I was taught not to chart bruise, but describe what I saw....color, size, & so on.

EJ.. we (nurses) put them in all the time, or as someone else suggested a central line. Don't know what her problem was, but if she is not comfortable with doing EJ's she needs to step aside..... I just don't have time for that.

It is not easy sometimes, but we do....and we are the only Trauma Center in ~ 100 miles. We mix a lot of our own drips, and have a night closet that has many meds in it. If it is something we can't handle we can call pharmacy in.

I think the poster is saying that if you routinely treat/see GS wounds.....you would be more apt to know how to care for them.....trauma/er/medics. Not that working MS made them capable of this type of care, but used their experience to make a point ...

A doctor ordered meds on a b/p from 8 hrs prior????? No re-check??? How long was the b/p elevated..or was this just a one time event? Did this b/p come down on its own or were b/p meds given? This is just odd to me that any doctor would order anythin...

No cafeteria, no pharmacy after 2100, and a lot of the time not enough staff after midnight!....but night shift is not busy & doesn't need that stuff anyway....Right?

I use this type & really like them. This may be what some are talking about with the button, but I have never had a problem. We also have this second type....and I hate these things! We use this type of twin cath & I like these also.

Wheew... This is so very true. I have tears in my eyes, and cold chills.
