Are all PMHNP programs post MSN certificates?

You're looking for Traditional MSN (traditionally people get their bachelors first, then masters). You do not need a masters degree to apply for a masters degree. Post-MSN certs are for people who already hold a masters of nursing degree (some s...

NP Supervision in CA in Psych

Connections. Most people starting their own practice have worked for employers with physicians and they gain connections that way. There's also a company called Doctors for Providers that claims to match providers.
  3. You should be able to find a job, but your first job might not be the ideal job that you want. When employers want experience, they want "prescribing" experience in most cases. Some 100% telepsych companies require 1-2 years of PMHNP experience ...

    Realistic group/provider split?

Billing companies that charge 3% likely isn't good. Billing slips only flag billers to submit claims. A good billing company will make sure that your claims are paid as quick as possible and pursue aged/denied claims. That could make a huge differenc...

    Realistic group/provider split?

80/20 is probably unfair. 70/30 is good. Most of the practices in my area are offering 60/40 for 1099. I work some hours at a place at 60/40 but they run a very tight ship, handle almost everything, and there's already a panel so I was almost full fr...

    PMHNP Walden

Because the accreditation standard regarding clinical placement is lax and open to interpretation, the accrediting agency does not enforce, and students do not report.

    Resources recommendations from practicing PMHNP

I think you might be talking about "Simple and Practical Mental Health." Few other ones are Psychopharmacology Institute, Carlat Report, and NEI.
  8. Check with the board of nursing in the states where you are licensed and where your patients are. Also check with the company you're working for. Most commonly NPs need to be licensed in states where the NPs are located and where the patients a...

    PMHNP Burnout

Our degree is pretty specialized so there aren't a ton of direct opportunities outside of diagnosing/prescribing. Most likely you'll have to do something that's entrepreneurial and outside the box that relies on transferable skills and your own attri...

    PMHNP, Guaranteed Preceptors?

I agree. If it's up to me, online programs that don't guarantee preceptors shouldn't exist. I'm simply saying that prospective students, when they're applying to an online program, cannot reasonably expect a school so far away to guarantee local plac...

    PMHNP, Guaranteed Preceptors?

Yes, I mean if OP can move to live in the same area where the brick & mortar school is located. It'd be unreasonable to expect a school 1-2 thousand miles away could guarantee preceptors.

    PMHNP, Guaranteed Preceptors?

If you're able to move, there should be plenty of PMHNP programs that will guarantee preceptors. Most PMHNP programs attached to highly reputable schools will guarantee preceptors.

    creditenaling in different state

Once you get your Missouri licenses, apply to get your AZ RN and NP licenses by endorsement. Look up AZ's board of nursing to see what they require. The requirements and processes are usually clearly laid out.

    share experience as a PMHNP

Is the $2,500/month after tax withholding? If you're seeing 55 patients a month and you see 3 patients an hour, you're working ~18 hours a month. That's $139 per hour, which isn't horrible if it's after the split and tax. Are you utilizing add-on cod...

    creditenaling in different state

I'm assuming you mean credentialing with insurance companies? You need to get your AZ licenses first, then find a job and your employer will do the credentialing with insurance companies.

Legally, Can I mix RN/NP roles?

Contact your state board of nursing and/or malpractice insurance. They should be able to give you some insight.

    PMHNP with med/oncology experience

You can, but I would recommend getting some psych experience while you're in the PMHNP program. Our patients deserve it.

Anyone running an independent psychiatry practice?

Rates will vary a bit depending on the practice and insurance companies but those are probably within the range. One way to find out is to interview fee-for-service jobs and ask them to give you what they're getting for reimbursements within your sta...

Anyone running an independent psychiatry practice?

I'm not independent but I know my reimbursements. My experience (1 practice) is that commercial insurances are paying very close to Medicare rates (but I'm still getting the 2020 rates). Telehealth might be a bit different for other states. http...

    Average nurse/patient ratio?

That's a lot even with 2 techs. Might be doable for evening shifts and if everything else is well managed. I would suggest psych hospitals that are directly part of a larger research institute. They generally have better nurse-to-patient ratio, ...

Seems like you're doing exactly the same.

    SNF CPT codes

Ask billing, admin, or practice manager. Most notes in EHR include coding information as well and you can look at what previous providers used.

    Neuropsych testing

I don't think so. Neuropsychologists have a PhD or Psy. D and complete post-doc fellowship or residency in neuropsychology before getting board certified and licensed. Your best bet is to find places to refer, but the wait time can be long.

    Average nurse/patient ratio?

What kind of facility? For inpatient, this kind of ratio is extremely unsafe. I worked in med/psych facility and even 6-9 patients can get pretty overwhelming sometimes. Also, if you want to have good/proper learning experience (assuming si...
  25. I might have the option to see WA patients with my current company in the near future. For tele-PMHNPs out there who see WA patients and are fee-for-service, do you know: 1) is there telepsych parity in WA that requires insurance companies to r...
