  2. Can you help me with PHN?

You can get a PHN job as an LPN- I did. However those jobs are very few and far between. Also, as an LPN you will be extremely limited in what you can do. I really enjoyed PH, really regret leaving...
  3. What do/did you say when...

Amen NancyJo! I think as long as you are content and fulfilled with the job that you have, you don't need to put yourself through the torture of school to get new initials behind your name. Sometimes...
  4. Lunch Everyone? Am I paranoid or what?

Totally unacceptable. :angryfire We always had to rotate lunches so there was always equal coverage at all times. This seems just plain insane to me and even more so that the DON doesn't seem to have...
  5. What happens if you hit bone in an inj?

Yep. I hit bone once in ten years, in a thin elderly person (of course). I also aspirated blood once. Both made me feel really bad, but neither pt. had any problems afterwards.

  13. New LPN and no jobs available.

  14. You Know You're A Nurse When...

    :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: So true!
  15. Nursing License number fraud question

I'm no legal expert, but I would think besides misrepresenting herself as an RN, you may also consider identity theft. Even if she didn't give your name, she represented your license as her own, which...
  16. When is a nurse not a nurse? Situation...

Amen. No license, you can't call yourself a nurse. You did the right thing.
  17. Oh, I so feel your pain. About six months ago I had to put my precious kitty down because he had feline leukemia. To this day I still cry like a baby when I think about it. I had the same doubts that...
  18. AAARRRGGGGHHH!! Stupid cell phones!

I agree. I hate cell phones at work. I turn mine off whenever I go to work. Don't you hate it when you are interviewing a patient and they stop to answer their cell phone. So rude! :angryfire
  19. Wish me luck

    Best of luck! :biggringi
  20. The great thing about nursing is that if you aren't happy in one position, there are so many others you can pursue and still be a nurse. Most of the complaints you hear about nursing you will hear no...

  22. YeeHaw! Great new job

Actually, I didn't even know about this position. I had submitted my resume to the hospital a while back. They forwarded my resume to this Doctor because they recruited him and are helping him to...
  23. Positive Mantoux

Hi ohlpn. I used to work in public health and we were educated continually about current TB protocols. A positive skin test alone is not indicative of TB. You didn't say if the CXR was conclusive. I...
  24. Hi. This may seem like a stupid question :imbar considering I have been in nursing for 10+ years, mostly in hospitals and free standing clinics. I am thinking of applying to a LTC facility affiliated...
  25. Are you ashamed of being a nurse?

I am sooo happy to see the replies to this question. I have been a nurse for ten years and recently have been struggling with the decision to leave nursing for many of the reasons listed on other...
