Discrimination Against ER Nurses?
I had no intention of being rude in my comments. I'm simply not one for posting long comments when using my mobile device.

Before you start classes make sure they will transfer towards a CC degree and ultimately towards any future plans such as BSN, masters etc

Discrimination Against ER Nurses?
I don't see anybody being vindictive or laughing at you. It's unfortunate that you've only recently found AN and all the current information we have on the sad state of nursing employment.

Falls on way to bathroom
I'm curious as to why your unit doesn't have fall prevention protocols in place already.

Discrimination Against ER Nurses?
From what you've written I can see a few reasons why you've not been hired.

If you don't like science you won't like nursing

I broke my toe and can't tolerate a shoe... now what to wear?
Last fall I stubbed my baby toe. The pain was terrible. I managed to fracture one of the small bones behind the toe. It took 2 months to heal. All I could do was wear super sturdy shoes. I did get a cortisone shot and that helped for a few weeks. But getting the shot in the foot was in itself an intolerable amount of pain for 60 seconds

Goodbye, fellow nurses
Congratulations OP and good luck in your new career. Today was my last day working as a nurse. I'm off in a new direction and big adventure. Of course if this new career pursuit doesn't work out I can always return to homecare nursing. I don't hate nursing, I'm just ready for something new.

new position and still not satisfied
You remind me of myself. I don't like high stress jobs and I soon get bored with repetitious jobs. So perhaps you need something challenging to occupy your bored brain whether that be a special project at work or finding a new hobby during time off.

Requiring a BSN degree for an ADN scope of practice
Exactly. I'm looking at changing careers. Often I see that a "bachelors degree in any field" is required. What the heck difference will a "bachelors degree in any field" make when compared to someone with over 30 years work experience and an AA? Would a 22 year old new grad with a BA and no work experience get hired over me with an AA and 30 years work experience?

I did lots of research. Everything you need to know about teaching ESL is online. There are ESL jobs out there. My immediate goal is to teach in Mexico so I'm taking the CELTA there. This is a highly rated ESL 4 weeks long teaching course. But first I'm going to Guatemala for 7 weeks to learn Spanish. Ultimately I want to travel and teach ESL through Latin America. I'll make it work one way or another.

Nurses with worse spelling than mine are laughable.
Having said that.......

Enjoy your travels. I'm also about to embark on a new adventure. I'm leaving everything behind to go teach English overseas and travel.
