  1. Believe me, everybody feels that way after the test. Most pass though. See the steps to check, at the very first posting of this thread.
  2. HERE ARE THE EXACT STEPS TO SEE IF YOU PASSED OR FAILED THE NCLEX EXAM ON THE PEARSON VUE WEB SITE: 1) Go to http://www.vue.com/nclex. 2) Select the 'Test Taker Services' tab at the top. 3) Click 'Register' on the right side. 4) Click the 'Credit Card' link. 5) Click the 'sign in' link in the second sentence. 6) Enter your Username. 7) Enter your Password. 8) Click the button. 9) Click 'Register' on the left side. 10) Select your test type. 11) Click the button. 12) Select your country. 13) Click the button. 14) Answer the yes/no questions. 15) Select your country again. 16) Select your state. 17) Type in your city. 18) Click the button. A list of schools should appear. 19) Select your school. 20) Select the month and year of your graduation. 21) Select your board of nursing. 22) Click the button. VERY IMPORTANT: At this point, if you get a pop up that says 'The candidate currently has test results that are on hold. A new registration cannot be created at this time.', it has nothing to do with passing or failing; it just means that they are reviewing your records due to random reviews that they conduct, or because they needed to locate some data or papers, etc. This means you will possibly have to wait a few more days than your friends who did not get this message. If you get the message 'Our records indicate that you have recently scheduled this exam. Please contact your Member Board for further assistance. Another registration cannot be made at this time.', that means you passed. If you do not get either message and go straight to the Credit Card information page, that means you did not pass.
  3. I agree. I typed up those steps in hopes that people would see them and maybe the Webmaster would put a link to it or something, but every couple of posts is the same: "How do you do it?", "I'm sweating, I have diarrhea, I'm going crazy, is the trick real?", "What are the exact steps, like 1-2-3?", etc. 400 pages is a lot for someone to read through, let alone someone who is freaking out about all the rumors or misconceptions. I will try to contact the Webmaster to see if there is some way to have a link to the steps.

  5. Hi veeeeejj11, this is 'whydavewhy'. I told you that I would let you know when my names showed up, so here it is... I just checked the California Board of Registered Nursing, and my name finally showed up with an 'RN' after 11 days (I took my NCLEX test in Gardena, CA on August 14th). So the "trick" does work. Everyone who receives the 'contact your member board' pop-up passes! So if your name still is not showing on the Board of Registered Nursing site, just wait, and it will show up eventually. I don't know why there is such a disparity between different people's names showing up, but there is. Some take a few days, others takes weeks. Congratulations again!
  6. If you are getting the pop-up that says, "Our records indicate that you have recently scheduled this exam. Please contact your Member Board for further assistance. Another registration cannot be made at this time." then you can relax. Congratulations. Some people have their name up on the license verification list in a few days, while it takes weeks for others; I don't know why.
  7. if you remembered to enter your username and password, and the first screen says, "status delivery successful," and then after answering the questions you get the credit card information screen instead of a pop-up message box, then that means you did not pass. don't feel bad. there is someone on this post that took it 5 times. my wife is a great nurse (34 years) and she failed the nclex the first time. even my kaplan course teacher failed. you might want to think about taking the kaplan course. i took it and i think i passed (still waiting to see my name on the bon list though), kaplan will pay you back your nclex registration fee if you fail. hang in there!
  8. What all these posts about "the trick" means is that you can tell if you passed or failed the NCLEX by pretending to re-register on the Pearson Vue site. But depending on the message you get, you may have to wait a few hours, or a few days. Here are the steps: 1) Go to http://www.vue.com/nclex. 9. What do you mean by "gvn status?" I can't figure out what "gvn" stands for or how a person could lose it...

  11. It just depends on how lucky you are! some people get information within a few hours, others like me have a "records on hold" message for 6 days before it changes to anything else. Here are the steps: 1) Go to http://www.vue.com/nclex. 12. Hi 'littlecute22', If it tells you to select a nursing program, then that means you either did not type in the city of the school you went to, or you didn't click the button, or you did click the box next to your school (see steps 17-19 below)... 1) Go to http://www.vue.com/nclex. 13. Here is the link to the California Board of Registered Nursing, to check your name: http://www2.dca.ca.gov/pls/wllpub/wllqryna$lcev2.startup?p_qte_code=RN&p_qte_pgm_code=7800
  14. Yes 'veeeeejj11', both of us are finally RNs. But I won't celebrate until I see my name listed on the Board of Registered Nursing Web site. It was last updated on August 19th, and today is the 20th, so I'm hoping that I will see my name on there tomorrow afternoon when they update it. I'll let you know when I see mine, and you let me know when you see yours, OK?
  15. Some states allow reciprocity with California licenses; others may require you to take a test. So it depends on which state you are going to. Non-CGFNS states include: 1. CALIFORNIA
2. ARIZONA
3. OHIO
4. NEW YORK
5. MARYLAND
6. GEORGIA
7. FLORIDA
8. ILLINOIS
9. SOUTH CAROLINA
10. HAWAII
11. NEW MEXICO
12. VERMONT
13. OREGON
14. NEVADA
15. COLORADO
16. KANSAS
17. TEXAS

21. KENTUCKY In a previous post, Silverdragon102 said, Why even need a list of CGFNS or non-CGFNS States? There are about 50 States and US territories that one can apply for US licensure. It would be better to just pick a handful of States or territories you would consider to work initially or endorse down the road and go to their website and see the requirements yourselves. In fact, most likely you will just end up with one State or US territory to apply for initial licensure and another one for endorsement down the road. Also, requirements for foreign-educated nurses change very often and so a list of CGFNS or non-CGFNS State would always change overtime and so if you happen to see a previous list of it and you make a decision base on that list, w/c in most cases would have been changes by the time you apply then you would have chosen a State to apply for licensure on a wrong premise. Not to mention, that once you apply you will be downloading the most up-to-date Application Form from their website anyway and see their updated requirements for it. If the updated application form says one thing and the "master-list" says another, you only follow what is on the application form and not on the list that someone did months or years ago. Also, another thing that many do not realize is that there are also endorsement requirements that also varies from one BON to another and it does not necessarily mean that if one was able to apply initially on a State that does not need any CGFNS service that they can easily endorse to a State that needed it. Some BON do still require that one to go through the CVS for NY or a CGFNS CES if endorsing to them regardless if you are already licensed on another State and like I said endorsement requirements can change as well, much as the same way requirements for initial licensure can so it will also be mistake to make a list of endorsement requirements as well. 17. Congratulations veeeeejj11! I have had the "records on hold" message for the last 6 days, and I just now got the good pop up (contact your Member Board) too. Hooray for both of us!!!!
  18. Make sure you enter your username and password, or you won't get anywhere. This thread has so much filler and rumors and incorrect information, it's amazing that anyone can find all the correct steps and descriptions of the 3 things that can happen. So... Another registration cannot be made at this time.', that means you passed. If you do not get either message and go straight to the Credit Card information page, that means you did not pass. (NOTE TO WEBMASTER: IS THERE ANY WAY TO CREATE A LINK TO THESE STEPS, SO ALL THESE NURSING STUDENTS WON'T HAVE TO READ THROUGH OVER 400 POSTS TO FIND BITS AND PIECES OF THE STEPS AND GET ALL CONFUSED AND WORRIED? THANKS.)
  19. The trick DOES work; people who get to the CC page and still end up passing usually made the mistake of not signing in with their username and password first. Anyone who registers without doing that will get the CC page. So here is the bottom line, to help you avoid reading these hundreds of posts and getting all confused: First of all, you MUST first sign in with your username and password. If you get the "test results on hold" message, that means nothing. You will just have to wait. Once it changes, then you will know you passed if you get the "contact your member board" message, or you did not pass if you get the CC page.
  20. Did you remember to sign in first? Click on the 'Test Taker Services' tab / Click the 'Register' button / Click 'Credit Card' / Click the 'sign in' link in the first paragraph. / Enter your Username, then your Password, then click 'Register' again. / Check the boxes and answer the questions. Be sure you enter your state and city, and then you should be able to choose your school.
  21. Thanks for posting, servant84. Sorry to hear you didn't pass. So that makes 3 out of 4 people so far who got the "on hold" pop up that did not pass. I'm probably in the same boat as you. I took the test on a Friday in California, and have had the 'on hold' message for the past 5 days. A friend of mine took it on a Friday the week before, and she got the good pop up ("contact your member board") the very next day. If it makes you feel any better, my wife, who has been a great nurse for 34 years, did not pass on her first try, and even the instructor for the Kaplan course that I took did not pass on her first try. You'll get there soon!
  22. Actually, there HAVE been some people who got the "on hold" pop up and failed. Of the three people that posted what happened after getting the "on hold" pop up (that I saw), one of them ended up passing, and two of them ended up not passing. I think some people are confusing the "on hold" pop up ("The candidate currently has test results that are on hold. A new registration cannot be created at this time.") with the "please contact your member board" pop up ("Our records indicate that you have recently scheduled this exam. Please contact your Member Board for further assistance. Another registration cannot be made at this time.") The "on hold" pop up does not tell you anything; it just means you have to wait longer before you can try the trick, at which point you will either get the "please contact your member board" pop up (you passed), or the dreaded credit card page (you did not pass).
