    The waiting game...

Good luck! As a student, I do have a "best story" and this is the patient that made me LOVE the smallish ERs....I didn't get him from the FD...his nurse was leaving for the day, so most of his work...

    Blogging---what crosses the line?

Case in point---heard a story about something being stuck up a rectum the other day, if the details were blogged about, I'm sure that the patient would know they were talking about him/her....

    Maybe I just don't know...

Most EDs have certain things in line that RNs can do without the doctor telling them. I would have hung the fluids...if you are going to be an RN you could have checked the chart and figured out why...

I think that's a great idea! How do you suggest I go about setting that up? Just calling and expressing interest in working there and asking if I can shadow

LTC does not equal RN experience?

OK, Cause I thought that was a bit off too. My grandmother before she passed was in an LTC and she had a g-tube and was completely paralyzed from a stroke...you can't tell me that that isn't acute!...

How do you handle the drug seekers?

I understand the "I do have pain" or "this is my history" as I have been there done that. I have trigeminal neuralgia myself...and the first time is showed up I was crying in the ED and REFUSED...

I have fainted twice. Once was basic training and I was stupid. It was negative temps outside, so I didn't think I had to drink. WRONG. I knew I was gonna go, so I turned to the gal behind me, said...
