The Wicked Politics of Clinical Practicum in Nursing School

Because the OP mentioned calling their instructor out at the nurses station after the fact, and mentioned doing it in a haughty fashion which many would consider jerky behavior Posting from my phone, ease forgive my fat thumbs! :)

The Wicked Politics of Clinical Practicum in Nursing School

Very different than calling someone out in front of the nurses station after the fact in front of everyone, especially if you are a subordinate. What you are referencing is called an "on the spot correction" the other I simply called being a jerk. (See, I too have "life experience" and most of it is in precarious situations in which I have been both the student and the instructor). Posting from my phone, ease forgive my fat thumbs! :)

The Wicked Politics of Clinical Practicum in Nursing School

Correcting anyone in public is bad form and should earn you some scorn. As an adult and person you should know better than to do that. Also, thinking this is the right thing to do, will gain you some well earned hatred once you become a team lead, charge nurse or manager. Posting from my phone, ease forgive my fat thumbs! :)

    Dear Family Members

I'd like to add the poor mothers who are wailing in pain who have their own mothers berating them! "No, you don't need an epidural! I did it, your sisters did it, don't be a p**** just suck it up" or the ignorant baby-daddies who say "if you get that your cheating!" Or the one I wanted to haul off and punch....post-epidural the lady was having very nice contractions and finally moving along , after the delivery dad said "almost made it, but you had to wimp out." OMG can we add this to the "you are horrible" list?!?!?!?

    Dear Family Members

During clinical rotation in peds we had a mother who did just that: photographed our EVERY MOVE. We were sent into that room with that patient to get used to it...what a scary though, that this was something we had to get used to! The sick part? The child was there and the mother was being looked into for having done something to place her child there. Take all the photos you want! Why? Because I wont treat your child in a manner that you most likely did.

    PDAs and Nursing?

I really suggest the iPhone. There are HUNDREDS of medical apps on there! And alot of them are under $10! There are also plenty of NCLEX study guides there too.
