  1. Midlife students, did your high school every lose your transcripts?

This happened to me as well. The sad thing is I graduated ahead of my class, during the summer the same year as my brother. When I requested my transcript from the records department for the department of education because my high school closed, they...

  3. jacksonville University Nursing

Yes, the prereqs. Unless you have a good wad of money saved, then do your FASA to see if you get any grants. Also, JU will give you a 7000, scholarship just for going full time. Since they are private, they cost more than UNF, but its not jumping thr...

K nurse -one-day, the reference has to be has the JU letter head. It is something you download once you get accepted, and referred to the school of nursing. Its pretty specific the reference letter. There are people in my class that are still taking ...

K-nurse-one-day(sorry if I got it backwards), your reference letters are sent as one packet from you to JU. So once you get them back, I believe once you apply to JU, with an interest for the nursing program they send a check list of things to send i...

Munkeyann, is this a scheduled move? Alot of your initial stuff for JU can be done online or through the postal service. The only part I am not sure concretely about is the interview/essay process. But it will not hurt to apply. :)

munkeyann, I found out that some of the new students, that were recently admitted are from out of state. I applied in April I believe and got in for this semester. Its really hard to gauge how or what works for getting in to most programs. And to b...

I am not sure, since nobody really knew what they were looking for in the interview process. There are no right or wrong answers in the interview. I was shocked that they were not selected as much as they were, so who knows. I made a mistake in my...

This was my ending GPA, but I have a few friends where their GPA was 4.0, and they still were not admitted.

K nurse-one-day, even though the tuition is a bit much, remember JU is a private university. The give a 7000 scholarship to most people off the bat, plus they give the FLRG (Florida resident grant) to most people to off set the cost. Then they have s...

I know when I had on gallbladder removed the first sign that anything was wrong was the reflux. Keep in mind I never had any for of heart burn or indigestion previous to this sudden case of aggravating reflux. It was quite mild at first but eventual...

Just curious in the instance of the 2 who did not show up, did they replace them with people from the wait list?
  15. jacksonville University Nursing

I did not receive a letter of acceptance, but was speaking to someone in the department about where I stood as far as the wait list. I was told I was one of the top 5, not sure which one maybe # 5, with my luck:lol2:, but was told not to lose hope as...

Ok, this is overkill.... I got another letter telling me I am on the waiting list. Just when you get over the disappointment...snail mail to the rescue.

Hey I was going to go to Chamberlain as well, but although I have a AA from FSCJ, Chamberlain still require you to take a bunch of filler classes. Like another Humanity as well as another Speech class which is absolutely unnecessary:confused:. I un...

As discouraging as the letter was, and it really was like a kick in the stomach. I have decided not to give up on my dream. I will be a nurse one day, soon. Since this was an accelerated program which I was unaware of when I applied, perhaps it was n...

Just got a letter from JU, was put on a waiting list for 2010 Traditional Program(whatever that is), I would hate to have to go through this whole process again. So plainly speaking if you did not get a call and you get a letter you are out!

I agree, we must ALL stay positive. I truly believe if it was meant to be then it will for all of us that applied! I would like to meet all of you, since we all share the same goal and have the same passion. So no more negative thoughts.

25 seats!!! Wow, its like playing the lottery. So, I am assuming that if we all do not get into the accelerated program we will have to reapply by Dec. to start in May:eek:
  22. jacksonville University Nursing

Hi, can you give more info? Was not aware that a hybrid class was taking place. I was too a little taken aback when inquiring about the program that for transfers it had to be submitted by December. Can you tell what it entails? Thanks for the heads ...
  23. jacksonville University Nursing

I am not sure, but the majority of the people being interviewed when I went for mine were transfer students. I think they integrate the transfer students with a degree into the junior class ( I am just guessing of course).
  24. jacksonville University Nursing

I am a transfer student, have my associates already.
  25. jacksonville University Nursing

Hi, no they select the question for you. Since there were only 4 people in my session 2 people each had the same questions. The questions in the interview is your own opinions so there is really no right or wrong answers. And the essay is your own r...
