I have recently obtained my CNA certification and I also have a EMT-Basic license and ERT/PCT training. However, finding gainful employment is very hard for me and I'm trying to figure out why??!?! Currently, I am employed as a CNA with a non-medical home care agency but the hours are horrible! I can't provide for my daughter working 7 hours a week if any! Also, when I do work I feel frustrated because I don't seem to be applying any of MANY medical skills that I do have. I feel like a housekeeper not a CNA!!! So does anyone know of any nursing homes, rehabilitation facilities, hospitals or medical focused home care agencies that I can look into???? In addition to that, I'm trying to fulfill my dream of becoming a nurse. I just found out about a LPN program that I want to enroll in. However, I've been told before that the profession of a LPN is fazing out, and that employers are beginning to look only for RN's. Is this true??? or is being a LPN still a lucrative profession???? p.s. once I get the LPN, I'm thinking I might go back to school to become an RN after a couple of years.... Thank you in advance for you input!!! Have a Blesed Day!!!
