I am very confused, my facility just hieared 2lpn to supervise day shift during weekday and weekends. we do have more than 6 RN {new grad} on diffrent floors. my question is 'is it possible for lpn to supervise RN if she have mor exp":idea:? add a tag (edit tags) none

1.5 years exp as LPN My first job in PA $20 /hr night shift. Moved to MD PAy 17.50 /hr. 25-30 resident very very stressful Now I'm working in VA $23/hr assisted living stress free. Full benfits for PT&FT. No overtime,weekend deff,holiday pay

Hello Amy, I'm very sorry about your previouse exp. Don't let negative people hold you back. I think you are very smart. I started my life from scratch when I came to the USA in 2002. My english was soooo bad. I remember my first biology class I had no idea what my instructure is talking about. I stayed up all night studying one page!! looking up every single word. I quiet and went to work as a cashier for $7 an hour. One day a nice lady was shopping at our store she looked at me and said" I love your smile where are you from" we started talking and she asked me to be patient and go back to school. I did went back to school and I got C in biology. I was so happy for that C. The next semester I got B in psycology. My GPA went up to 3.0!!! It took me more than 5 years to get to that point. When I had my second child I decided to get my LPN first to make some money and I did in 2008. There will be alot of positive people in your road as well as negative people. Brush off the bad ones and be patient. I am still learning new words every day as long as I'm willing. I am allways allways asking how to spell this word ?how to say this word? what is the meaning of that? many times I see people laughing at me or being rude to me. "I don't care" keep laughing. I love love what you just wrote. instead of looking for languge errors why not correcting them and admier the hard work of learning a new languge. I just hated when HR give this attitude. never return calls back or "we will give you a call if been selected". They even have a messege on thier voice mail "if you are calling to check on your application don't leave a voice mail we will call you ". I mean give us a break just say no you were not selected so we can move on!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes I agree with{ Blackheartednurse}. Get ride of her will never resolve the problem. She will work somewhere else and kill someone. At least you noticed her bad behavior try your best to direct her and then if she refuses to change then let her go. I wish she will be out of nursing once and for all. God knows we don't need that.

I allways ask for the assignment sheet{ It's a paper with the names of all your residents & room numbers}. I look at my MAR and highlight Pt with 11am finger stick with GREEN. Pt with afternoon meds with Blue. Pt with wound care or procedure with RED. On that paper I'll write any thing I want on the back use signs or abreviation in case you leave it any where{ I Use my first languge, good luck understanding if you find it!!!}. Organization is the key find away you will feel comfort with and good luck. Some times I use my blackberry to remind me of things { just make sure to put the phone off }. good luck

Oh yes, I will never forget that day. It was 3 weeks ago on tuesday. acording to my hand out schdule I was off. I recieved a phone call from my boss, DON, staff with all kind of words on my voice mail why I didn't show up? When I called them they told me " It was acomputer error" They never said sorry or any thing.
