  1. Whats your favorite montra or saying?

Everything will be okay in the end, if it's not okay it's not the end!
  2. PNP Board Review Material

I used both of those books you linked to as well as the question book that goes along with the orange book. Found all of them really helpful in passing the PNCB exam (passed in June--first attempt!)
  3. Regis College Fall 2013 direct entry NP

Interviews are pretty laid back (2012 grad here). Be yourself, relax, and tell them why you want to be an NP and go to Regis! :) Good luck!
  4. Pediatric NP students

That's good you're separating next semester--it will definitely make things much clearer! We used Pediatric Physical Examination and Health Assessment by Sawyer.
  5. Pediatric NP students

I recently graduated/passed my boards for pediNP. No job yet so I can't tell you in "real life" if they encourage them or not, but in school we definitely did ROS for pedi patients (and we were separated from FNP students). My pedi H&P book also ...
  6. best anatomy and physiology aid?

When I was taking A&P I bought a toy skeleton from the halloween store--it actually had amazingly detailed bone anatomy. It was SO helpful to have that sort of 4D visual aid where I could actually point to the body parts. And it was super cheap!
  7. Regis College RN-BS-MSN Program

Ah I see you were looking for the REAL schedule for the upcoming semester. They usually post it on Regis Access a few days before you are scheduled to register, so that you can plan out your schedule and respond ASAP. I was also in the "day section" ...
  8. Regis College RN-BS-MSN Program

It wasn't that long ago, but I can barely remember! I know you'll take two classes: psych and acute care (aka med/surg). Each of these has a clinical-- acute care clinicals is two days and psych is one day. I do forget how many days a week the classe...
  9. PNP acute care exam-passed!

    YAY!!! Congratulations!!!
  10. Bio/Chem degree vs nursing degree

I was a Biochem major in my undergrad degree and then went into a direct-entry program to get my BSN/MSN and I just finished with that. I think they are different kinds of "hard". I found the content and concepts in biochem more challenging to learn,...
  11. May grads, June test takers !

Congratulations Reeya!! So happy that you passed--I was rooting for you!
  12. Tips for PNP certification exam?

I did both NAPNAP's online course and the PNCB prep course (which were practice exams that then gave you rationales for the right answer). I did primary care though, so just keep that in mind. I liked the online course--it broke it down into very sma...
  13. Starting PNP program in Fall 2011!

Sorry I'm responding late--boards took priority (and I'm happy to report that I passed!!) danceluver: I actually have found the job market to be better than I expected (and I'm in MA). There's not a ton out there for PNPs here, but when there is an o...
  14. May grads, June test takers !

Just wanted to update everyone that I passed the PNCB yesterday :) Good luck to all those who are still preparing to take it or any of the certifying exams!
  15. Starting PNP program in Fall 2011!

Hi hjnurse! I was a direct-entry student, and continued straight from getting my BSN to getting my MSN, so I guess I fall into the category of the "not much peds experience as an RN". I just graduated in May and am taking my boards very soon (less th...
  16. May grads, June test takers !

Reeya I feel the same way that if I fail I will be traumatized and devastated and it will be hard to pick myself back up. I'm sticking with my date of June 30th (there is a fee at this point to change it anyway), but I am definitely freaking out! Les...
  17. May grads, June test takers !

Congrats lynnaprn! Good for you for getting it done and out of the way!! Wish I had the guts! Few more weeks until the nerves are OVER! Good luck Reeya!!
  18. May grads, June test takers !

I'm taking the PNCB (PNP-Primary Care), but I'm feeling the same way! June 30th is my test date and now that I've made the appointment I'm super nervous! I figure I'll feel nervous whatever day I take it no matter if I move it back or not, so I'm jus...
  19. To those who have taken Kaplan for NCLEX

It really depends on your study style. I took Kaplan and was glad I did because I was confident about the content, but have a lot of nerves surrounding test taking, so I wanted to know the test inside and out. Kaplan teaches you HOW to take the test ...
  20. How do nurses practice giving shots?

Fake skin and/or some sort of fruit (an orange maybe?! I'm blanking about what fruit it was) to practice in lab and then supervised by our instructors in clinical on patients. Definitely no practicing on each other!
  21. ADHD

I will admit that I have not heard of that. I did a quick literature search and didn't come up with anything either. Not sure that I would have if I had done a more detailed one either. I wonder what he bases his theory on?!
  22. Regis College RN-BS-MSN Program

In the BSN portion I would say that Medical/Surgical (aka Med-Surg) and Complex Care were the most difficult for me. There's just SO MUCH to know, so there is a lot of info on the exams that you need to know and it's a lot of work so you're exhausted...
  23. Regis College RN-BS-MSN Program

RoImDreaming--I totally forgot about the change of GRE format (I was one of the last to take the old system). Thanks for reminding me! And yes I'm in my last semester of the MSN section! I'm very excited to be graduating :) Good luck with your journe...
  24. Regis College RN-BS-MSN Program

Yes. Unless it's changed this year the GRE is required. They strongly recommend that you break 1000 as a score to qualify, but as long as you break that minimum you're golden as far as GRE scores go. Goodluck with the GREs and admission! I'm always h...
  25. Best Nursing Shoes/Sneakers

I LOOOOVVVEEEE Timberland Pro Renovos. They are sooo comfy and supportive. I could wear them all day and not have any pain. Similar to others, I had Dansko's, but they weren't for me. Some people swear by them, but they killed the tops of my feet. Ti...
