The order was incomplete, it does not have a time frame. What if she/he needs the percocet every hour. The doc probaly couldn't even read his own writing.

Could the circle with a dot be a Q, the 8L=8h, and the PNN = PRN? So it would say "Q 8h PRN" = "Every 8 hours as needed." Just a suggestion. Remember to clarify, though.
Discrimination does not seem to be an issue here. Either you falsely documented patient care or you did not. If you did not then you have a case against the facility. The race of your coworkers is irrelevent and should not be brought up. It only ...
Marilynmom, Don't let what you hear about med/surg scare you. Med/surg was one of the best clinical rotations for me except for leadership which was on a med/surg telemetry floor, ER and ICU. Med/Surg is where you learn your skills. I didn't care ...
I was offered a position at a hospital that is paying for the review for me. I probably wouldn't take it otherwise but since it's free, I definately won't pass it up.
Definately follow up with a phone call. I did the very thing at one hospital, comes to find out they had misplaced my app. The recruiter was so happy that I had called that, the day I interviewed, I was offered the job on the spot. Good Luck!!

The base starting pay is more like $17/hr + differentials. I interviewed in Tulsa though where it is only slightly higher. New grads are able to work in ER in some hospitals although it isn't recommended. I eventually want to work ER so I'm starti...

The paper is supposed to be 20-25 pages. But this semester we had to do 3 papers. The other two were group papers and had to be atleast 25 pages. Our research II paper ended up being 53 pgs. Tips: It is a definite transition from regular test to ...

Hey Marilynmom, You may be in my class. I also attend UCO. Are you a senior? If so have you finished your leadership paper yet? I'm such a slacker, I'm still only 5 pages in. I plan to have it finished by Thursday though. That's my goal.

That isn't true at all. If the only difference were prerequisites then a community college could readily confer BSNs, since most prerequisistes are sophomore level classes anyway. You guys have about 37 hrs of nurse only curriculum where as we have...
I believe that you can atleast make that if not a little more. I'm a new grad graduating in May and my offered salary isn't too far from that more if I include my differentials. Plus I was told I would recieve a raise after orientation and a second...

I graduate in May. I interviewed at St. JOhn and St. Francis and was offered both positions. The nurse/pt ratio at St. John is 1/5-6 where as at St. Francis it was 1/7-10 and higher on NOCs. I of course accepted the St. John offer. How is St. Fran...
Are you telling the complete story. Although, your behavior may have been seen as rude it was not enough to get kicked out of a program (my opinion). Most programs aloow you to fail one class. Generally you are kicked out the second time. Is this...

I graduate in about 3 weeks and I never had to give an enema during clinicals. Once in my med/surg clinical I was supposed to. I had it in my hand and walked to the patients room. Wouldn't you know it, he was on the toilet. I was a little disappo...
I graduate in May. I had two interviews in one day and was hired at both locations. I took the job with the lowest RN: Patient ratio. I will get a $7000 sign on bonus for a two year work commitment. I will receive the full check a couple weeks af...
It shouldn't be hard to find a weekend position at all. I don't know where you are but most places are begging for weekend nurses. Here in Oklahoma, most places are offering premium pay for weekend posistions.
Oh yeah, I definately understand that. My only point in mentioning the risks that athletes face is in comparison with their owners who are simply sitting in the box seats watching.
When I first started taking pills, I had to put the pill on my tongue and push it to the back of my tongue with my finger. Then I would just take of swig of water and swallow. I hope you find something that helps.
The other side of the coin: People pay athletes/actors to "see" them work. No one pays nurses/physicians, etc. to "see" them work. If athlete pay was decreased that would only mean that the team owners/coaches would get an even bigger piece of the ...
