    I agree with SmilingBlueEyes. It would definitly be an asset; it would make a nurse more "marketable". However, it should not be a requirement to obtain or keep licensure.

    I attend Kaplan University online. It is great, has a lower than other tuition rate, is accredited, federal student loans will cover it, and the books are included in the price.

    We have a combo unit that has 6 rehab and 6 subacute. On 1st and 2nd shift, we have 1-RN, 1-LPN, and 1- aide. On 1st, we also have all the therapies and a unit clerk. On 3rd shift, we have 1-RN and 1-aide.

    When a new med student or 1st year resident gets rude and nasty to me, I simply tell them that I can be their best friend on the floor or their worst enemy, that it is up to them to pick which one. The usually give me no problem after that.
