One can also be compassionate, insightful, present nurse by having their own religious views come into the equation. Life is not a black and white proposition, critical thinking as to interpersonal relations ie: wisdom, is important. Whether you are ...

I am male and started nursing school at 52 while owning 4 businesses. Through school I sold 3 of them which was as hard as school itself. I am now 55 and an RN. Don't get me wrong, school is very hard, but my wife helped me through the mental struggl...

I did well with my on line classes because I am a good reader, with good comprehension. By the time I drive to school, walk to the building, pee, and have a few minutes to spare, it is 35 minutes for me. That is each way, so 4 classes, that is over 4...

Welcome Angelharts. You might look into online courses for your prerequisites. That could help with your time management. I did all mine online, and it worked out good. It's not for everyone though. Good luck.

Jenn, You are on the right track. I am just finishing up my first semester in nursing school, and it is good. A great staff, tough at times, but it will be worth it in the end. Go for those A's, the teas test will be easy in comparison.

I took the online Chem. Great class, I learned a lot, and it really was pretty easy. He didn't try to cram a whole book at you in one semester. For some of you just starting, it is a class that can help gain some points on the TEAS test too, as there...

I took it twice. The first time I was caught off guard by the math. For me it was almost too easy, I got caught up in double checking my answers, then ran out of time before answering all the questions. I scored real high on the science that time tho...

I don't think that you are unusual to be having some doubt. I had plenty of that before I started. The way I have been handling it is: don't think too deep. I have decided to do "baby steps". That is based on a movie named What About Bob. My first st...
Sorry to hear about your Grandfather. I was inspired by your writing. Keep that desire to help others and be part of the solution rather than the problem. You go!

i've been wondering...for lab, do you have lab partners? if so, do you have one for the whole semester or school? i went to itt for electronics, and on the first day, you just kind of paired up randomly like musical chairs. the only thing is that the...

+ I bought all my books used (but all really new, no marks) mostly from Amazon.com. I paid $571 for the same bundle. At least it was from the list they gave at orientation. (Lawrence) I know they wanted us to buy from Ivy, but, hey, a dollar is a dol...

There are jobs at St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands, which is a US Territory. There are several threads in the Travel Nursing Forum. Just search "St Thomas". St Thomas is just plain beautiful. At the harbor, there is a tram-way that will take you to a c...

Flightline, that was a beautiful, eloquent, from the heart post. Truthfully, I have been struggling with changing careers to nursing. Allnurses has been the best thing for me to get a little understanding of what it is like to be a nurse. Last fall a...

I am getting ready to buy my books for Jan. start. Most of them I am going to buy from a girl who dropped out. I have a question though. It seems like looking at the book list Ivy provided (Indy), that some of the books on the list have newer editio...

It has been slow on this thread for a while now. I wanted to ask about the required textbooks. I went to the fall 08 orientation (Lawrence) where they said you had to buy the textbooks from the bookstore because it was bundled. I thought they said it...
