  1. Does anyone take adderall????

I take Dexedrine (a component of Adderall) for my ADHD, and it's been a great help. I'm more focused and calm while on it; I can definitely tell a difference when I don't take it.
  2. Maxed out student loans??

Is moving an option for you? Not all the way to California, but maybe somewhere closer by where the cost of living isn't as high as NYC and where you might have an easier time finding a job. Upstate NY (where I live) isn't *inexpensive*, but is a h...
  3. I have a job!!

Congrats and best of luck. :balloons:
  4. Finally....I GOT IN!!!!!

    Congrats! :balloons:
  5. Curious. How many "older" students

I'm 41, single mom to a 19 year-old, was working on pre-reqs for an accelerated BSN/MSN program due to start this May. Money issues and a health problem have reared their ugly heads (again), so as of right now I'm not taking classes and had to withd...
  6. Question about working as PCT

I drew blood and did EKGs as a psych tech in an Emergency Dept. It was on-the-job training (this is in NY). After I'd been doing it for about a year, we did have a "formal" training provided by the hospital, but I was never certified by the state o...
  7. Magazine subscriptions- what do you have?

I subscribe to Nursing2004, but I'm not wild about it. Probably the next one I subscribe to will be AJN.
  8. I'm new

I know a lot of people on this board say that getting an NCLEX book (Saunder's, etc.) really helps them on tests in nursing school. I'm not there yet, so I can't tell you from personal experience. Best of luck!
  9. 2004 election

All I know is, we've got to get Bush out of the White House before he does any more damage. I think Kerry stands the best chance of winning against him, so I'm voting for Kerry.
  10. Baby born with extra head

Isn't this incredible? I found the picture very haunting.
  11. Should I disclose this in nursing school interview?

Best of luck on your interview!:balloons:
  12. Anatomy without chemistry?

    Rochester.
  13. Senator John Kerry (Democratic Prez Candidate)

I'd love to see a Kerry-Edwards ticket myself; I think they'd compliment each other well.
  14. Anatomy without chemistry?

The only chemistry I had before taking A&P I last fall was in high school, *many* years ago. (And I didn't do well in it, either.) I did fine in A&P. Good luck!
  15. Wish me luck - 1st check off tomorrow

    Good luck to you!
  16. micro

I found Micro easier than A&P, inthat there was less to memorize (at least in my course). I enjoyed them both, though.
  17. Senator John Kerry (Democratic Prez Candidate)

I've liked Kerry from the beginning because he had the most presidential demeanor, and I thought that alone might make him a more viable candidate than some of the others. When it comes right down to it, I will support whomever (whoever?) looks like...
  18. Anatomy & Physiology I

If you go to the Student Nursing forum and do a search, you'll find there are many threads that deal with this topic. Good luck!
  19. I'm So Excited - actually passed a test after 20 years

    Congrats! :balloons:
  20. A & P Question

Speaking of Hole, I found their website really helpful when I took A&P I last semester. I'm sorry; I don't have the web address right at hand, but if you Google it I'm sure you'd find it.
  21. DR.Dean a student's perspective

I've liked Kerry from the beginning, but I got to liking Dean, too. Dean got a lot of people fired up, and that's what the Democratic party needed. Ultimately, and probably unfortunately, I think it boils down to who will stand a chance against Bus...
  22. Accepted today, orientation tomorrow...Phew!!!

From one upstate NYer to another-congrats!! (Stay warm.):balloons:
  23. nursing tech job dilemma

I'd go for the hospital where you can do more, too. Like the above poster said, as long as the staff aren't total jerks, the experience will be great.
  24. do i want to quit i

Don't base your decision to pursue nursing on what you're seeing in the nursing home. I used to work as a CNA in a LTC place, too, and I would never have chosen nursing if I thought that was all there was to it. There's so much out there to do; don...
  25. LOVE My Foundations Instructor!

That's great that your instructor is so good; that can make all the difference.Good luck, and enjoy!
