I did Florida Medical Prep also, on Leesburg, had Ray- awesome! I was so skeptical too, sounded like a "promo"...granted I have all pre-reqs done for nursing school- but no real clinical experience other than having been trained as a "patient-sitter"...

A CNA, also, I did a 4-day prep course, 300.00, I was skeptical, but it was all I needed (I'm a nursing student, but had no prior clinical experience other than patient-sitting) I passed my test and feel we were even "over-taught" in our 4-days...so ...

Where are you scheduled to test? I just took the test today (passed) in Ocala.....it was a little easier than I thought, my nerves were still in high-gear that's for sure.

Well, my hard-earned GPA is for all nursing pre-reqs....that's how they did it at AACC in Maryland...here, I've unhappily discovered they look at total GPA

Thanks Dune181, LSCC does have a RN to BSN program, all done on line. I'm going to apply to both the 2-year ASN and the BSN program this fall....I guess because I'm older, "saving" 18 months is tempting, even if it's a long drive...

Yikes, that is alot of money! My local community college offered an 8 week course for 599.00, but I missed it, am doing a Florida medical Prep Course, 300.00, one week. But most importantly, you're doing it! Have you considered a goal of RN vs. LPN? ...

Stephaniek, did you get the position after your 1st semester of nursing school? I know if you are in the community college 2-year program, you can work as a CNA, but I thought you still had to obtain a license.

Thanks for the response! Yes, it's the "sitter/companion" position. I've never worked in a hospital, or in any healthcare capacity for that matter. I'm not a CNA, and have applied to nursing school for the fall '09 session at AACC. My GPA is over 3....
