I love LTC! :) Every work place has its downfalls. If you like routine (most days) and getting to know your patients...LTC is the way to go. :)

I HATE TEGADERMS!!! Granted I work in LTC. I use a lot of telfa.

I like the idea of making a template with the sterile side of the wrapper. Right now I cut more than one piece because I cannot eyeball the size for the life of me!!

I document the behaviors I see on our behaviors form. It then gets turned into Administrator, DON, ADON, SSD, & Careplan Coordinator. Saves my behind, the residents behind. :)

I work in LTC and yes we need an order for a bandaid. It gets repetitive and seems dumb but saves you in the long run!

Maybe not abuse. But extremely unprofessional. I'd give a verbal/written warning for it.

I hate to have to "get after" my CNAs. However, if they are not able to be responsible and do things right then I will follow them around like a child. Irritates me. lol

oh no! I'd freak if a CNA touched my skin tear! lol. they know to come get me immediately.

we have a great cna where i work. she works hard, always does a good job, and i can rely on her when she's there. that being said a couple times now, her alarm didn't go off and she's been 2+ hours late for work which in turn throws more on my other ...

oh yeah. id look sick if i didnt!! its pretty natural tho.

we have drinks at the nursing station. covered ones. in fact they got us cool cups for nursing week!! :) i think eating there looks unprofessional tho. maybe if no one is around

are you a nurse? id look at the order and she what it says and then clarify if needed. both should not be worn.

i work am shift but as far as i am aware...pm are at 4 and 5 and 6 and hs are at 8 and 10.

scary. as a nurse and pregnant with number two...i go as natural as possible. our bodies r made to handle birth...why not let them unless medically necessary? hell, i think taking pain meds during labor is dumb. bit too each their own.

oh how stupid. we all take the same boards.... and i paid a hell of a lot less for it.

the school nurse was right. Imo. and ps im a lpn that uses critical thinking everyday. a new one at that.

ugh we have lifts thank goodness. the hospital i did clincals at had a lift team we could call...which was awesome...

id report her again...again....and again...everytime she treats a resident like that. imo it sounds like abuse.
