    How to honor wonderful instructors

Hi Jolie, Thanks for the reply! It is easy to honor them all as there is only five instructors. We have a group of 24 students and we all have enjoyed our instructors-and I am sure that some have enjoyed one more over the other but all in all, as a whole we feel like we are on the same page with thinking that we need to do something for them. As far as the ceremony goes, I understand it is for the graduates, but our thinking is that without the encouragement and guidance of these women, a lot of us wouldn't be where we will be in a few weeks! Taking out a few minutes of a ceremony to honor nurses that have dedicated their time (and own money) to do things for us for the last couple of years would be nothing....if you know what I mean! =) They have been such a part of our lives-that we feel like they are family.

    How to honor wonderful instructors

Hello! I am a student that is graduating in the next few weeks. I didn't want to post this under the 'student' section, though, because I wanted to get opinions from the people that have already graduated. All of our instructors have been wonderful in our nursing program. I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to honor these nurses? We have a nursing graduation ceremony just for the nurses and I would like to do something special for them because I don't think that they get enough recognition for what they do. I am thinking about having them all come up to the front of the audience and hand them each a bouquet of flowers and maybe say something nice about them and the influence that they have on their students or does someone know of a beautiful poem, maybe, that could be read about teachers in general....any ideas? I would appreciate any thoughts on how we can honor these wonderful people that have had a positive impact on many future nurses.

    C-section concept map

Thanks Day-I am rethinking my top three diagnosis now! Thanks so much for taking the time out to respond.

    C-section concept map

Sorry, I forgot to mention that there is no real patient-this is just for any postpartum C-Section. So the diagnoses are just any three that I would potentially find in any C-Section. Thanks!

    C-section concept map

Hello! I am in my OB clinical rotation and am working on my C-Section concept map. For my nursing diagnosis I have: 1. Acute Pain r/t surgical incision 2. Risk for impaired tissue perfusion: cardiopulmonary r/t blood loss 3. Risk For Infection r/t surgical procedure and hospitalization + 17 other diagnoses. I have all of my nics and nocs for the 3 diagnosis but I just am having a hard time with #2 -I have for assessment: HR, BP, HS, RR, capillary refill, quality of pulse ?? But as far as Meds/Tmts and Diagnostic tests for Risk for impaired tissue perfusion as it relates to a Csection patient-I'm just not sure. Any thoughts or clues to get my brain working would be very much appreciated!

Need help from you creative people

My group and I have to come up with a skit or a video on postpartum hemorrhaging. UGH! I guess I am not that creative because I can't seem to come up with any ideas. The instructor said that we need to either make her laugh or cry! I was wondering if any of you creative people out there have any suggestions....it would be so appreciated!!

    HIPAA violation?

During one of my clinical rotations we were allowed to take home a part of the patients file to finish our homework. We had to turn the papers back in the next week in there entireity with the names blacked-out to be shredded. We just got into legal class and we were told that we weren't allowed to do this even if we blacked the names out. Did any of you run into this situation? What do you think?

    Olympic Penninsula

Thanks for the info Helix. That's what I am afraid of...that prices are decent in Sequim right now but when we want to move out there they will have skyrocketed. I know that the main hospital is in Pt Angeles-have you ever been there? I have heard that Sequim area is a big retirement area so I would assume that they would have ample medical facilities.

    Define 'therapeutic intervention'

This term has been used by a nursing instructor and as a diligent student, I am curious what this term means to nurses. My definition of it is any measurement used to increase wellness or well-being of an individual. There may be an aspect of this that I have not considered so I reached out to get others thoughts on what TI meant to them.

    Olympic Penninsula

Anyone from the Olympic Penninsula area? My husband and I are thinking of relocating from Michigan to the Sequim/Pt.Angeles area in the next 2-3 years and I just wanted to get the scoop on the area there. Thanks!
