Olympic Penninsula

U.S.A. Washington

Anyone from the Olympic Penninsula area? My husband and I are thinking of relocating from Michigan to the Sequim/Pt.Angeles area in the next 2-3 years and I just wanted to get the scoop on the area there. Thanks!

Beautiful!

Sequim is a little better in my mind than Port Angeles. (Rains less than other WA areas; called the 'banana belt'). Schools are a little better in Sequim as well, it is a growing community with every thing you need. Home prices are high, but lower than other Western Wa areas, but not for long. If you love the outdoors and fishing than this is a great area for you! I live in the Seattle area, but we are thinking of making a more out there as well. Really is a beautiful area to live. Good luck!

Thanks for the info Helix. That's what I am afraid of...that prices are decent in Sequim right now but when we want to move out there they will have skyrocketed. I know that the main hospital is in Pt Angeles-have you ever been there? I have heard that Sequim area is a big retirement area so I would assume that they would have ample medical facilities.

yes, a lot of retirees. There will be something for you, no worries. There are other nearby communities as well, so on the job front I wouldn't worry too much. Housing is another story! You can still can get some land for under 100 and build; which is what we are planing on. However, my husband is already starting to complain about the commute, so we may end up in Poulsbo instead, booo Sequim is a much better place to live. Good luck!
